Airtel currently leads the telecommunication market with the highest subscribers count

0

Indian telecommunication market has been a hot pot for the telecom giants as Indian subscribers target high-end data services. Amidst all this, Bharti Airtel seems to be growing its business. According to recent reports, the organization founded by Sunil Bharti Mittal has been growing its subscriber base. Recently it added 5.5 million new subscribers in December 2020, as compared to 3.2 million additions by Reliance Jio.

With this acquisition, Airtel has become the top telco by market share inactive subscribers, edging out Reliance Jio by the barest of margins. Speaking of over-all growth, Airtel added over 22 million subscribers between July to December 2020, whereas Jio only managed to add a little over 11 million subscribers.

With this recent development, Airtel’s shares jumped over 40% in value, and the company has continued to build its upward trajectory ever since.

“We like Bharti’s calibrated approach in shaping up its non-telecom digital service offerings aligned with its homes and enterprise businesses, which is perhaps under-appreciated for now but may drive significant growth in the medium term.”

Since its establishment, Jio has been leading the telecom market. Airtel’s strong performance in the second half saw it beat Vodafone Idea to become the second-largest telecom company. Still, Ambani led Jio to lead the Indian telecom market.

In terms of active subscriber market share, Airtel is now the top telco with a share of 33.7%, while Jio comes in a close second with a 33.6% share, and Vodafone Idea a distant third with a 26.3% share.

According to sources, Airtel added 11.55 million net subscribers while Jio added 39 million in 2020. Vodafone Idea lost over 48 million subscribers in the same period. Though reports indicate that out of the lost 48 million subscribers, almost 80% were absorbed by Jio.

The telecommunication market seems to be dominated by Jio and Airtel, and it looks as though  Ambani and Mittal will be in locked-horns for a while now.

AMD and Nvidia might be releasing 8GB variants of their cards soon

0

AMD and Nvidia are planning to release their latest and next-generation high-end graphics card. It is made public that both the graphics card manufacturers will be releasing their 8GB versions of their graphics cards. Though it is not yet confirmed whether the 8GB variant will be released, let’s hope for the best.

XIDAX has listed the 8 GB variant of the Radeon RX 6800 as its R+R Silver and R+R Gold machines. But the strange thing is that XIDAX has not uploaded the card’s specification, but most likely, it would be uploaded soon. Hopefully, it’s not a mistake on their side.

Coming to Nvidia, Palit submitted an 8 GB version of the RTX 3060 to the South Korean National Radio Research Agency. Codenamed GW-RTX 3060, the card is a GHOST OC model. Videocardz asserts that 8 GB of VRAM would require a 128-bit or 256-bit bus but the RTX 3060 has a 192-bit bus.

Although Palit and XIDAX have submitted the graphics card variants, we still have to wait for the companies to confirm the specs; if the OEMs decide to release the 8GB VRAM variant of RX 6800, it would certainly be amazing.

However, we are still waiting for the debut of the RX 6700 series. It would be interesting to see the launch of the 8 GB VRAM variants of both the AMD and Nvidia. Both of them will be launching their cards simultaneously.

Liverpool sign Everton legend Phil Jagielka’s son Zac

0

Everton legend Phil Jagielka’s son Zac has signed for Liverpool’s youth team, with the youngster set to train with the U14s of the Merseyside Reds.

Phil Jagielka was one of the mainstays during his time at the club, spending 12 years at Goodison Park and making 385 appearances for Everton. Zac is considered an all-around sportsman by those at the club, but he believes that he has a football future. The youngster opts to play as a forward. However, as history has it, positions don’t determine the quality of a player and can be changed at any time.

The Everton legend came through the Sheffield United academy’s ranks before making the switch to Goodison Park in 2007. In 2019, Jagielka was released from his contract at the club and returned to Sheffield United as the Blades came up to the Premier League.

Jagielka managed to earn 40 caps for the England national team and is now seeing out what could be the final days of his playing career at 38 years of age.

Despite straying ever closer to 40, the Englishman’s match-winning performance against Manchester United in the league earlier this season was appreciated through a man of the match award.

Jagielka was the 2005/06 Championship Player of the Year with Sheffield United as the team came up to the Premier League fifteen years ago.

With so many father-son duos surfacing in recent times owing to the coming of a new generation, Zac and Phil could be one of the names on that list when the youngster comes of age to feature in first team football.

Through football, you can teach respect for adversaries and rules, learning how to play as a team, how to win and lose

KINSHASA, Democratic Republic of Congo, February 21, 2021/ — FIFA and the African Union have agreed to launch a schools football competition following a meeting in Kinshasa between FIFA President Gianni Infantino and the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Félix Tshisekedi, who is also the current Chairperson of the African Union (AU).

The two presidents, who had initiated discussions last week by videoconference, met at the Palais de la Nation in the DRC’s capital to further their productive talks of the previous days, and central to their exchange was the need to use the power of football to improve lives and to harness the possibilities it offers to instil positive values in young people.

On this subject, both the FIFA President and the AU Chairperson agreed to use the framework of the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the African Union, FIFA and CAF, to organise schools football competition across Africa, which will kick off in the DRC. To initiate the project, a protocol was signed this afternoon between FIFA and the Ministry of Sports and Leisure of the DRC.

“President Tshisekedi is passionate about football, and I’m delighted that we can work together to give hope to all children across Africa thanks to football,” the FIFA President said at the conclusion of the meeting. “Together, FIFA, AU, CAF and our member associations will develop competitions and training for the youth through football, because football is more than a sport, it is a school of life. Through football, you can teach respect for adversaries and rules, learning how to play as a team, how to win and lose. With this schools championship we plan to make these values, which are already strong in Africa, even stronger.”

Subsequently, the FIFA President also had the opportunity to visit the offices of the Congo DR Football Association (FECOFA) and to meet with FECOFA President Constant Omari, the FECOFA executive committee and several representatives of the football community of Congo DR.

Theo Hernandez opens up ahead of the Milan Derby and feels it was the right decision for him and Achraf Hakimi to leave Real Madrid

0

Left-back Theo Hernandez and right-back Achraf Hakimi both were a part of Real Madrid at the starting of their career. Both things didn’t go according to plan for them at the Spanish capital, and they failed to break into the starting XI regularly.

Finally, they were deemed surplus to requirements and were sold. Theo Hernandez went to AC Milan, whereas Hakimi was on loan at Borussia Dortmund for two seasons before making a permanent move to Inter.

The former defensive pair at Real Madrid will now face each other in the Milan derby on Sunday. Inter are on top of the Serie A table with 50 points, followed by AC Milan with 49 points. This Milan derby holds much more importance as the winner will surely get a major boost in the race for the title.

Ahead of the Milan Derby, Theo Hernandez has told DAZN that he and Achraf Hakimi made the right decision to leave Real Madrid, and they have grown since then.

Hernandez told DAZN (via Marca): “Achraf and I weren’t playing much at Madrid and the best thing for us was to leave.”

“If you’re there and you don’t play, you’re not happy and you don’t have the opportunities that you’d like. We did our best and now we’re here in Milan”.

“Achraf is an incredible player, he’s got talent, speed and quality. We’re both quite similar. I know him personally and we’ve spent a lot of time together. He’s a great guy and a good friend of mine.”

“What will I say to him during the derby? I won’t say anything. On the pitch we’re enemies but off it we’re good friends”.

Theo Hernandez is also waiting for his first call up to the French national side.

He said: “I have to work every day and wait for the call-up. I don’t feel Spanish, I’m French. It’s true that I lived in Spain when I was young, but that doesn’t mean anything. I was born in France, my family is in France and I’m French.”

After a long period of Juventus dominance, the Milan sides are back in contention for the Serie A title. They pose as a serious title contender this season which will add an extra flavour to the Milan Derby on Sunday, 7:30 pm IST.

Could cryptocurrency be the future of football transfers?

0

Millions are spent on player transfers every single window, with the prices rising as high as €100 million becoming common for any talented youngster. However, the future of football transfers could well be shrouded in the acceptance of cryptocurrency in the form of Bitcoin as a replacement for the big bucks being splashed around the way they are.

The way that Bitcoin has soared in value creates the perfect opportunity for clubs to invest and use these funds in making high-value transfers. What’s even better is that the money takes about ten minutes to transfer from one user to another and is stored on a computer.

The Financial Fair Play rules could be followed better using Bitcoins for transfers, considering that clubs will not be able to spend more than they own. But a key factor in this lies in the fact that clubs could simply agree to pay in instalments or agree to some other kind of workaround that bends the rules of FFP.

Bitcoin transactions can also be traced completely, owing to the Blockchain feature of the platform.

There have been instances across Europe where transfers have been completed through the use of Bitcoin as a payment method. However, it is yet to emerge on to the big scenes. This could change in the next few years as clubs could try to transfer funds more directly since Bitcoins do not take a lot of time to reach their intended target.

What went wrong for Lukaku at Manchester United?

0

Romelu Lukaku joined Manchester United in 2017 from Everton for a massive transfer fee of £75m. But the Belgian failed to deliver at Old Trafford as per expectation.

Lukaku was in sensational form at Everton. He became the 4th player in the Premier League to score 80 goals before the age of 24, after Wayne Rooney, Robbie Fowler, and Michael Owen. When he arrived at Old Trafford, it was expected that he would be explored much more. But it didn’t happen. Lukaku has scored just 42 goals in his 96 appearances for the club.

After two bad seasons, Manchester United finally let him go to Inter Milan in 2019. Romelu Lukaku started flourishing again at Inter Milan under Antonio Conte. He has already scored 56 in 80 matches for the Italian side.

But what went wrong for Romelu Lukaku at Manchester United?

When Lukaku joined Manchester United, Jose Mourinho was in charge at Old Trafford. Mourinho is always known for his fast counter-attacks with one-two fast passes. But the questionable first touch of Lukaku sometimes lets him down.

After the sacking of Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took charge. But Lukaku was given time off at around the first month of Solskjaer’s reign for the birth of his child. Before he was back, Marcus Rashford started cementing his place as the team’s first-choice striker. But Ole changed his position and tried to use him as a winger. But with his questionable first touch, it was always going to be difficult to play there.

Lukaku is much more flexible when he used as a target man in the box. Antonio Conte found out missing part of the puzzle.

It is not the fault of Lukaku or Manchester United. Some clubs have their own style of play. The style of Manchester United didn’t suit the Belgian. A different style, along with less pressure, helped Lukaku to flourish at Inter.
