Top 5 players to miss out on Euro 2020

0

The delayed European Championship 2020 is upon us, and though not all squads have been released, we have seen big players missing out. In this post, we look at the biggest names to not be competing in the tournament due to injury, or otherwise.

5. Theo Hernandez

The AC Milan left-back has been among the best in the league in his position. Moreover, his influential nature for Milan has made him one of the first names on the team sheet. However, despite being fit, Didier Deschamps has decided to drop Hernandez from the squad.

4. Marco Reus

The 31-year-old Dortmund star ruled himself out after a very draining season to rest himself and prepare for the upcoming campaign. His fellow Germans, Thomas Muller and Mats Hummels have won call ups for the national team in his absence.

3. Zlatan Ibrahimovic

The Swedish striker returned to the national team for the World Cup qualifiers earlier this year after retiring in 2018, but sustained an injury with AC Milan that will keep him out of the competition. Zlatan recently signed a contract extension with Milan that will see him play for the club when he is 40, and could very well play for Sweden in the World Cup next year.

2. Marc-Andre Ter Stegen

The German withdrew from the Euro 2020 squad, deciding to go for surgery on his knee in Sweden instead. Barcelona themselves have had to endure a difficult campaign, and this will give Ter Stegen plenty of time to come back fit and stronger.

1. Virgil Van Dijk

The Dutch centre-back has been injured for the majority of the season, and will miss the European Championships as well, opting to rest and return to full fitness with a complete preseason for Liverpool instead. The Netherlands will be without one of their best players in Van Dijk, but will be hoping to do their best regardless.

Xbox Game Pass Rumors are Hinting a Potential Union with Nintendo Switch and Electronic Arts

Due to the ongoing Epic Games vs Apple legal showdown, many things are coming out of the bag, like one is regarding the Xbox Game Pass. The rumours are saying it could be a potential Nintendo union; Game Pass also has been linked with Electronic Arts.

Xbox Game Pass has surpassed 23 million subscribers. Having that success, it’s reasonable to presume other companies beyond Microsoft might get in on this particular money-making enterprise. Previously, Nintendo was being suggested as a potential Game Pass partner, and as per the new information, this gonna be a match made in heaven very soon.

Many are assuming that Microsoft is working with Nintendo regarding Xbox Game Pass expansion onto the other platforms. Seeing the Nintendo statements from the legal proceedings, the Game Pass team was involved in discussions with “competitively sensitive information” between Microsoft and Nintendo.

A Nintendo Switch Pro or Switch 2 could be launched in the market in late 2021. This advanced device will be a perfect one to utilize the Xbox Game Pass service. CrazyLeaksOnATrain has claimed that Electronics Art will also have a deal, which gonna make its games available on Game Pass on the day of release.

For now, take this leak as a pinch of salt; even the source says, “now I only mention things that are certain”. But it doesn’t mean that there is no possibility of a union between Microsoft and Electronic Arts regarding Game Pass.

Manchester City complete Fluminense double-swoop with Metinho signing

Manchester City have completed the signing of Fluminense midfielder Metinho, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano. The Brazilian becomes the second player to be recruited from Fluminense, as the City group completed the signing of Kayky earlier this year.

The player will join Troyes on loan, a part of City group, from 2022. City will be paying Fluminense a sum worth €5 million, excluding various add-ons, agreed in the contract.

Born in 2003, Metinho only just turned 18 and though he is eligible for a work permit, he will have to gain some experience on the pitch to compete for minutes at Manchester City.

His playing style is claimed to be similar to Real Madrid’s Casemiro. Scouts say that the player is a natural leader, and functions best when deployed as a defensive midfielder, as part of a 4-3-3. He asks for the ball occasionally, and plays short passes to his teammates to move the game forward.

He is tactically sound, and is a great reader of the game. Additionally, he wins the ball back frequently and has good physical strength that allows him to get the upper hand in contact situations.

Metinho has not even made his debut for Fluminense’s first team, and City’s trust on their scouting team shows how highly they rate the midfielder. Should things go in his favour, he could be the natural heir to fellow Brazilian defensive midfielder Fernandinho.

Chelsea in talks with Robert Lewandowski’s agents

Chelsea are in contact with Robert Lewandowski’s agents, according to Sky Deutschland. The player has scored 40 goals in the league this season and could overtake the legendary Gerd Muller’s record of scoring 40 Bundesliga goals in one season, with one game to go.

The Blues are in need of a recognised goalscorer, and with Jorginho as their leading goalscorer with 7 goals, it really goes to show how misfiring their frontline has been. The Italian has scored all of his goals from penalties, and Chelsea need that extra firepower to compete for the Premier League title.

Harry Kane is on the market, with the England captain desiring to leave Spurs. However, it is very unlikely that Daniel Levy will do business with Chelsea due to their rivalry with the club.

Hence, the Blues have turned their attention to the Polish sensation on the request of manager Thomas Tuchel. The 32-year-old has two years left on his current deal with Bayern Munich, and is showing no signs of slowing down.

Olivier Giroud is set to leave the club at the end of the season, and Tammy Abraham’s Chelsea career has been frozen still. With both strikers out, Timo Werner and Kai Havertz have been deployed as centre-forwards but neither has been able to deliver as frequently as required.

Lewandowski turns 33 in June, and the experienced striker could be the perfect option for the Blues to not only have a great striker, but also someone who can help groom Werner and Havertz.

AMD Navi 23 Radeon RX 6600 Series will Feature 8GB GDDR6 RAM and PCIe Gen4 x8 for Both Mobile and PC Variants

Many details about the upcoming AMD Navi 23-based Radeon RX 6600 and RX 6600 XT are now out on the internet. The RX 6600 series will be featured both on desktop and mobile and will offer up to a 2350 MHz boost clock, 8 GB GDDR6 VRAM, and PCIe Gen4 x8 connectivity.

Right now, it is very clear that AMD is gonna launch a Navi 23 RX 6600 and RX 6600 XT GPU very soon. As per the reports, the RX 6600 series will be placed in the entry-level to lower mid-range segment and is based on the RDNA 2 architecture.

It is expected that AMD will offer at least three Navi 23 GPU options. Laptop OEMs can have a choice between 65W, 80W, and 90W TGPs depending on their cooling targets and chassis design. Theoretically, Navi 23 can support up to 16 GB GDDR6. The Navi 23 models might feature 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM on a 128-bit bus with a possibility of better and higher RAM variants down the line for the Radeon Pro series.

The RX 6600 series will feature a PCIe Gen4 interface, but instead of x16 lanes, it will use x8 lanes. This makes sense selecting PCIe Gen4 x8’s throughput is equivalent to the PCIe Gen3x16 and it should enough for FHD Ultra gaming.

Coming to the connectivity, the Navi 23 supports HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4a, and single-link DVI in the desktops and laptops along with VP9 decode, H.264 decode, HEVC decode, and VC1 decode capabilities. If this information becomes true, it seems AMD might have a capable Navi 23 offering that could be equivalent to the Navi 10-based RX 5700 series on the basis of performance. It is assumed that the Navi 23-based RX 6600 series will be launched in June 2021.
