UEFA Champions League 22/23 preview: The most unique season in history starts today

0

After a long wait, the Champions League is finally back with its new season. The 22/23 group stages will be played out over the course of the next few weeks before the World Cup takes over our TV screens. This makes it a very unique season for club and European football.

Following the tournament in Qatar, club football will resume alongside the Champions League. And as you can assume, this one is going to be a packed year for the players, and exhaustion is going to be massive heading into the tail end of the season.

UEFA Champions League 22/23 preview

We have already talked about the teams that are expected to make it to the knockout stages. But in the Champions League, anything can happen, which is why the predictions should be taken with a pinch of salt.

The World Cup will not only affect the fitness of players due to its demands on the pitch, but also form, owing to the mental battle. Players will have to turn their focus from the national team to the club in time to make things count on both fronts. Of course, this is way easier said than done.

Real Madrid lifted the trophy by defeating Liverpool in the finals last season. And their balanced squad makes them contenders for the title yet again. However, teams like Bayern Munich, PSG and Manchester City could also come up with a surprise following their smart recruitment over the summer.

Whatever happens to be the outcome of the group stage, the real battle for the title will begin after the break for the World Cup.

Mahindra XUV400: Blue Version

The brand new all-electric XUV400 revolved around such a tweaked mode of the XUV300 platform. The core philosophy design focused on the multimodal approach, wherein there is some elements have taken from XUV300 while others might be followed by the new born-electric Mahindra SUV like XUV.e8, XUV.e9, BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09.

As an example, the headlamps and LE#D DRLs are looking quite similar to the ones using XUV300. On the other hand, the design of the body has panels that’s looking more in line with the structure followed by Mahindra’s born-electric SUVs. The EV contains some key highlights like twin peaks loft in the bronze finish that has been placed right on the center of the front grille.

The car is quite flanked by X lettering that holds the finishing touch of bronze. We have got here some similarities with  Nexon EWV that has 3-point elements on to the front grille. Breaking: BCCI official lashes out at former Indian captain Virat Kohli for his “lack of support” remark

0

Virat Kohli‘s latest press conference on Sunday created a controversy again. He stated how he didn’t get support from anyone when he had a tough patch. He claimed that apart from MS Dhoni nobody texted him after he stepped down from Test captaincy. However, a top official from BCCI contradicted Kohli saying ‘Everyone backed him, don’t know what he is talking about.’

“Virat has had backing of everyone. From his teammates to everyone at the BCCI. To say that he did not get the support, is not true. He was granted break to rejuvenate, he got frequent rest. Even everyone at BCCI wished him on social media when he stepped down from Test captaincy. So, I don’t know what he is talking about,”– A BCCI official said

Virat Kohli’s form dropped in recent times but he got back to it in the Asia Cup 2022. In the last match against Pakistan, he scored 60 runs in 44 balls. BCCI had a mixed feelings on whether to keep Kohli in the Playing XI or not. With his good form in the Asia Cup 2022, he fixed his place in the squad for T20 World Cup.

Virat Kohli’s statement

I would only say this, when I left the Test captaincy, MS Dhoni was the only one among all the cricketers I had played with before who texted me. A lot of people have my number but he was the only one who texted me.

It comes from the genuine respect that we have for each other. There is no insecurity from either end in our equation. These things matter. I live my life with honesty and these things matter to me. I just want to say this, if I have to tell someone about their game, I reach out individually. Even if I have to reach out to them, I do it personally.

Even before the South Africa tour, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly said that he had personally requested Virat Kohli not to step down as a T20 captain. This incident took place after he was removed from the ODI captaincy.

BCCI is happy that Virat has come back to his old form in the Asia Cup 2022.

“There is no bad blood between Kohli and anyone in BCCI. Everyone respects him for his contributions to Indian cricket. He is a very important player across all three formats. He has hit form at the right time. We only wish he continues that run. It will be crucial for Team India in Australia,” the BCCI official said.

DDR5: Entry level memory cards will soon experience a rapid price record

0

According to a new study from DigiTimes Asia, DDR5 memory prices are expected to decrease in the second half of 2022 and into 2023, which should undoubtedly benefit AMD & Intel PC manufacturers. Contract pricing fell by 20% in July as semiconductor makers sold lower-level DDR5 modules. Prices for DDR5 at the consumer level, particularly at channel wholesalers, fell sharply below manufacturer’s anticipated retail prices.

According to the report, prices for the following year should be reasonable, enabling the adoption of DDR5 memory modules right away. It is projected that the cost of DDR5 memory will be comparable to, if not identical to, that of the DDR4 memory modules that came before it, enabling more users to upgrade to the latest technology.

DDR5 will be highlighted by AMD Ryzen 7000 series systems because they are only compatible with the more recent memory modules.

Over the next few years, DDR5 will be at the forefront in most systems because to this focus on the more recent generation. To provide “EXPO” kits that will deliver the highest performance on the future AM5 platform, the business is collaborating with a number of DDR5 memory manufacturers.

Not only will the price cut help Intel, but it will also keep AMD competitive in the market. Alder Lake and Raptor Lake, which are focused on DDR4 memory, are expected to sell more units for Intel due to their compatibility with DDR5 memory on both current and upcoming Core processors.

Due to the high cost of DDR5 modules in the first part of the year, Intel has lagged behind in terms of full adoption. Because the RAM standard naturally supports speeds of up to 5600 Mbps as opposed to AMD’s native 5200 Mbps transfer speeds, Intel will be able to significantly increase bandwidth.

Currently, 32 GB dual channel DDR5-4800 kits cost about $149.99, which is comparable to the price of DDR4 from a few years ago when compared to costs in 2021. A 6000 Mbps kit with 32 MB dual channels with CL36 timings cost $239.99.

Vinicius Jr acquires Spanish passport after 4 years with Real Madrid

0

Vinicius Jr has received his Spanish passport after meeting the criteria needed to become a permanent resident. The player can now be registered as a European, and they have one extra non-EU spot open in their squad.

This was one of the reasons their move for Gabriel Jesus collapsed in the summer. The Brazilian ended up moving to Arsenal from Manchester City as a result. But now, Real Madrid can pursue another player from South America, such as Endrick, that they have been linked with.

Vinicius Jr registered in European quota by Real Madrid

The winger has been in fine form over the past season. He was essential to Real Madrid’s success in La Liga, and the Champions League. He scored the winning goal against Liverpool in the final, which led to their 14th title.

Los Blancos have awarded Vinicius Jr a new contract following his brilliant form. He is viewed as untouchable by the board and is a vital part of the future. This season, he has continued to showcase his end product, scoring three goals and providing one assist in four games.

The youngster has helped Carlo Ancelotti’s side to a perfect start in La Liga so far. And it now remains to be seen whether they can defend their title, since they are the favourites right now.

NASA: Hydrogen Leak foils the launch of Artemis I Mission

0

According to a statement released by NASA, the agency will not try to launch its Space Launch System in the upcoming days, foregoing potential launch windows on Monday and Tuesday. The statement, which follows two unsuccessful attempts to launch the enormous rocket, will probably cause a delay of several weeks.

The Space Launch System was scheduled to launch for the first time on August 29, 2022. (SLS). Engineers discovered a problem with one of the rocket’s four engines’ temperature and aborted that launch attempt. A persistent hydrogen leak, which Artemis mission manager Michael Sarafin termed as “significant” at a news briefing following the scrub, prevented the second launch attempt. During the attempt on the 29th, a tiny hydrogen leak was also observed, but this one was much bigger.

Whenever it occurs, the launch will be the first for NASA’s SLS, a highly costly, incredibly delayed rocket that has been under development for more than ten years. The rocket was scheduled to launch the unmanned Orion spacecraft on the Artemis I mission. The mission is intended to act as a trial run, laying the groundwork for subsequent trips that will send men to the Moon.

The next Artemis I launch attempt has not yet been scheduled by NASA, but they anticipate knowing more in the coming days.

Engineers are particularly interested in the portion of the fuelling system that assists in supplying the rocket with liquid hydrogen fuel and that can be rapidly disconnected from the rocket after fueling. This “fast disconnect” has a seal around it, which is referred to as “soft goods,” to prevent hydrogen from leaking out. The removal and replacement of the soft furnishings surrounding the quick disconnect is one option under consideration.

Currently, the engineering teams are debating whether it will be preferable to complete this replacement and address any more problems back in the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) or if they should remain on the pad. Both strategies have advantages and disadvantages. According to Sarafin, NASA could test the system at cryogenic temperatures if they remained on the launch pad. This would give them a better sense of how the system would react in a real launch. The drawback is that in order to stay at the pad, NASA would also need to construct an environmental cage. The VAB itself would serve as an environmental containment if they returned there.

The second launch attempt would most likely take place in mid- to late-October after a planned human trip to the International Space Station launches earlier that month, according to NASA Administrator Bill Nelson, who spoke shortly after the second launch scrub on Saturday. It takes many hours to roll the megarocket back to the VAB.

There is yet another difficulty. Another timer started on August 16 as the rocket rolled out to the launch site. Prior to having to set back the launch in order to test the batteries in the rocket’s flight termination mechanism, NASA had 20 days to launch the rocket. If something goes wrong during launch and flight, the Space Force can activate the termination device on the rocket to kill it. A 25-day extension was granted by NASA, but that period is almost gone. It must return to the VAB unless NASA is granted another extension.

Meta and Qualcomm enters into new Multi-Year Chip Partnership

0

According to Mark Zuckerberg, Qualcomm and Meta have struck a multi-year partnership pledging to collaborate on customised Snapdragon XR CPUs for “other devices” and the “future roadmap of Quest goods.”

The Quest 2 is powered by the Snapdragon XR2 chipset, so in some ways the change is routine; yet, it may shed light on the compromises Meta has made as it struggles with declining revenue and seeks to contain Mark’s metaverse project’s escalating costs.

The Qualcomm agreement demonstrates that Meta’s forthcoming headsets, which are said to feature a high-end headset codenamed Cambria and, subsequently, updated versions of its less expensive Quest headset, won’t run entirely on technology that Meta built.

This is true despite the fact that Meta has a staff devoted to achieving the same since 2018 and that rival businesses like Apple, Amazon, and Google base their product selections on unique chip designs like M2, Graviton3, and Tensor.

The chips will be “customised” for Meta’s requirements, according to this news statement. However, it’s unclear how much of a gap there will be between its “luxury” products and competing gear that closely follows Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR standard designs.

Meta
credit: theverge

According to a report in April, staffers of Meta were collaborating with semiconductor fabs, the businesses that generate the actual physical chips, to create unique chips for the company’s upcoming augmented reality headset. The Information noted in the same month that some of Meta’s attempts to develop proprietary chips were encountering difficulties, forcing it to use a Qualcomm chip for its second-generation Ray-Bay smart glasses rather than its own hardware.

A spokeswoman for Meta, Tyler Yee, stated that the business wouldn’t comment on any particular plans it may have had for customised chips for Quest products and that it doesn’t discuss specifics about how its roadmap has changed.

Yee did, however, provide a statement regarding the business’s “overall attitude to custom silicon,” stating that Meta doesn’t think there should be a “one-size-fits-all approach” for the technology supplying its upcoming products.

Other indications point to areas where Meta has scaled back its VR and AR goals. The business presently runs the Quest on Android, but it was apparently developing its own operating system for its augmented and virtual reality gadgets. The company reportedly put an end to development on a project dubbed XROS, but in response to that piece, the business stated that it was “still working on a highly specialised OS for our products.”

Against this context, a corporation under considerable strain is present. Due in part to Apple’s changes to how applications may track users, Meta’s revenue has dropped for the first time. Zuckerberg has publicly declared his intentions to increase pressure on staff while acknowledging, “I think some of you might just say that this place isn’t for you. And that self-selection is okay with me.” At the same time, he is placing a huge wager on the metaverse; the corporation invests billions of dollars annually in the project, which includes AR and VR gear, but also loses money on it.
