Bengaluru FC: A remarkable journey of progress, consistency and trophies

0

Bengaluru FC has been a team which has always dominated the Indian Footballing leagues since its establishing days. January 2013 was when the hunt to register this beautiful club started. Since its start, the journey has been one hell of a ride for the Blue’s supporters.

This was the time when Indian Football wasn’t too popular with teams like Mohun Bagan and East Bengal only being massive during that time. It was time for Indian Football to step forward. It was rumoured that clubs could enter India’s top league I-League through corporate entry.

Bengaluru FC: A remarkable journey of progress, consistency and trophies

The Journey of Bengaluru FC

Bengaluru FC is the face of the modern era of Indian football. Formed in July 2013, BFC have not only managed to deliver quick success, winning the I-League in their first season, but also sustain it since. The combination of the club’s success on the field and their approach to football off it has resulted in Bengaluru FC becoming one of Indian football’s best club sides in just nine years of existence.

“We are certain the club will raise the bar for professionally run football teams in the country along with being the ideal platform for youth development,” Sajjan Jindal, the Chairman and Managing Director of JSW had said after the launch of Bengaluru FC in 2013.

25th August was when Bengaluru FC rolled the ball for the first time. They played a friendly against the national team as preparation for SAFF Cup 2013. The journey of this beautiful club started on 22nd September 2013. It was their first I- League match and it was against Mohun Bagan. They won their next match 3-0 against Rangdajied United. Bengaluru FC played their first away match against the Kolkata giants East Bengal and it wasn’t a result they expected as they lost 3-0 against them. It was the first defeat for the club.

Bengaluru FC: A remarkable journey of progress, consistency and trophies

When hardly few believed in them, they had to believe in themselves. They had a good first season, they lost only 5 games in the 24 games that they played. They finished the season with 47 points. East Bengal were 4 points adrift of them. They could proudly say that they topped the table in their first season. They could proudly call themselves ‘Champions of India’ in their first season.

The club has a block in the stands which started with less in number but it is growing year after year. The block is an emotional block for every BFC fan, Its called the West Block. A lot of effort has gone to make this a successful block. Although in the start the numbers were less, they still used to chant a few chants and always wanted to follow the European culture back in their homeland. It was successfully executed.

Bengaluru FC: A remarkable journey of progress, consistency and trophies

In the 2015-16 season, Bengaluru FC made sure that they rise from the title defeat stronger than ever. They took the previous season’s title loss under their strive and came back stronger in the upcoming season. They were the first Indian Club to reach AFC Cup finals. Bengaluru FC winning a trophy a season continued after winning their 4th trophy is 4 years. They won the Federation Cup in the 2016-17 season. Only in the 2019-’20 season did Bengaluru FC go without winning a trophy.

In just seven years, Bengaluru FC have played 47 matches in Asian competitions, a tally bettered only by East Bengal. However, Bengaluru FC have more wins than any other club in Asian competitions and thus a higher win percentage. Lastly, Sunil Chhetri-led Bengaluru FC beat Mumbai City FC 2-1 in the final of the 131st edition of Durand Cup at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata.

Bengaluru FC: A remarkable journey of progress, consistency and trophies

A trendsetter in so many ways in Indian football, Bengaluru FC are now beginning to transition from a brilliant success story to perennial winners. Attracting the best Indian talent, Bengaluru FC have been working towards building a dynasty in Indian football. If the first seven years are anything to go by, the Blues from Bengaluru are going to take some stopping.

Honda’s first electric scooter for India will be cheaper than petrol Activa: President of HMSI

0

Honda Motorcyles and Two Wheelers India (HMSI) is working on a slew of electric vehicles for the Indian market, and the first electric scooter from the brand will be priced less than the petrol powered Honda Activa, said Atsushi Ogata – the President of HMSI.

He also added that HMSI is aiming at capturing 30 % market share in India’s electric two wheeler market by 2030. To achieve this, Honda plans to launch at least three new electric two wheelers by 2030, and that company hopes to sell at least a million EVs through these launches.

Honda has even gone to the extent of showing the top-speed and worth stage at which it plans to place its first EV whereas Hero MotoCorp will get into the EV area as early as subsequent week by means of the Vida sub-brand. Notably, Hero MotoCorp is a serious investor in India’s greatest recognized electrical car start-up Ather, and likewise retails Ather electrical scooters by means of Hero dealerships.

“We have completed the feasibility study. Our first electric product is under development. We expect the market for electric two-wheelers will reach around 3 million units by 2030. We want to bring in multiple models and have a 30% share in this category by the end of the decade. The first electric two-wheeler will deliver a top speed of 60 km per hour. The vehicle will be positioned below Honda Activa, which comes tagged between ₹72,000-75,000 (ex-showroom). With this product, we are targeting customers who are looking at electric two-wheelers as an additional option. It will be an affordable mid-range product for  wheelers as an additional option. It will be an affordable mid-range product for specific use cases”, Atsushi Ogata said.

At the moment, solely two legacy two wheeler manufacturers – Bajaj Auto and TVS Motors – have a big presence within the electrical two wheeler area, which is dominated by start-ups reminiscent of Okinawa, Ather and Ola. Quickly, all this can change as practically each legacy two wheeler model will launch aggressive electrical scooters. Yamaha has confirmed plans that it is engaged on electrical scooters for India, and so has Suzuki.

Even TVS Motors has a major stake in Ultraviolette, a high performance electric two wheeler company headquartered at Bangalore. Once legacy players enter the electric two wheeler space, it would be interesting to see how start-ups cope. Legacy players come with decades of engineering, manufacturing and distribution experience, and are likely to give EV start-ups an enormous run for their money.

Sony Nextorage PCIe 5.0 SSD is the Storage we Needed

0

It was believed that Sony’s introduction of the Nextorage SSD brand for its PlayStation 5 consoles approximately a year ago was a one-time action to meet the demand for PS5 storage. It turns out that we were mistaken. In particular, enthusiast-grade SSDs and client-grade SSD are about to hit the market thanks to Sony’s Nextorage.

According to Hermitage Akihabara, the firm displayed three PC-targeted products at its exhibit at the Tokyo Game Show, including SSDs with capacities of 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB. You can still put the majority of these products into a PC.

With peak read and write speeds of up to 9500 MB/s and a PCIe Gen 5 x4 interface, Sony’s Nextorage M2-2280 SSD is undoubtedly impressive.

Sony
credit: tomshardware

If it actually achieves those speeds, it would outperform the vast majority of drives on our list of the top SSDs. The speed of the 3D NAND SSD platform used by Sony’s Nextorage drives with a PCIe Gen5 interface and the company’s ability to obtain the necessary chips, which are reportedly difficult to come by, define the drives’ maximum performance.

At the Tokyo Game Show, Sony’s Nextorage division not only showed off a high-end PC-oriented driver, but also a whole family of upcoming products, including a 4TB SSD. Displaying a catalogue of SSDs is nothing out of the ordinary for an OEM, but in Sony’s case, it could signal the electronics giants’ commitment to the storage space.

Given that Sony is the brand’s owner, the PlayStation 5 drive will likely continue to be the crown gem of Nextorage, although drives may eventually be seen in commonplace PCs.

AC Milan 2-1 Napoli: Huge win puts Azzurri on top of Serie A table

0

Napoli defeated AC Milan 2-1 to go to the top of the table with their fifth straight win in Serie A. The Rossoneri have had their 22-game unbeaten streak ended, as the Azzurri have seemingly started to mount a title challenge with their impressive performances.

Matteo Politano scored the opener for the visitors from the penalty spot, but Olivier Giroud was able to pull one back. The Frenchman has scored in three consecutive league appearances for the first time since July 2020.

AC Milan lose to Napoli at San Siro

After a timid first half, Sergino Dest was subbed on at half time and he took out Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to concede the penalty. Olivier Giroud was able to score an equaliser from Theo Hernandez’s cross, but substitute Giovanni Simeone scored from the bench once more to give his side an important three points.

Over the course of the season, this could prove to be a massive victory for Napoli as they look to reclaim the Scudetto. As of now, Milan are in fifth place, three points behind Luciano Spaletti’s side.

The international break will give them time to recover and regroup, and potentially get back to a good run of form. Inter Milan and Juventus are five and seven points behind Napoli respectively, while Roma are four points behind at 13 from seven games.

Apple: U.S Department of Justice will be joining Apple and Epic Games agreement

0

According to court records filed on Friday, representatives from the U.S. Department of Justice have asked to participate in oral arguments scheduled for next month in “Fortnite” creator Epic Games’ appeal of a court decision against Apple Inc (AAPL.O).

In 2020, Epic filed a lawsuit against Apple, alleging that the iPhone manufacturer’s App Store policies—which mandate that developers provide Apple commissions of up to 30% of in-app purchases—violated antitrust laws. Apple largely prevailed, allowing its commissions to remain in place. Antitrust experts had warned at the time of the trial that if Epic lost, it could be impossible for the Justice Department, which has been looking at Apple since 2019, to file an antitrust complaint.

The U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals will hear oral arguments on October 21. Apple and Epic will each have 20 minutes to present their respective claims.

The Justice Department entered the case by submitting a brief in January. The country’s main antitrust law, the Sherman Act, was erroneously construed by the lower court, according to antitrust officials, who claimed they did not back either side in the current issues. U.S. officials requested 10 minutes of discussion time on Friday.

“The United States believes that its participation at oral argument would be helpful to the court, especially in explaining how the errors (in antitrust law interpretation) could significantly harm antitrust enforcement beyond the specific context of this case,” the Justice Department wrote in the filing.

Apple wants the regulators’ debate time to be taken out of Epic’s time or given more time, but neither Epic nor Apple opposed the action.

Intel Core i9-13900K performs amazingly in its Pre-Launch Review

0

Although the Core i9-13900K from Intel won’t be available until next month, Enthusiast Citizen has managed to provide a comprehensive assessment of the top Raptor Lake CPU. OneRaichu, one of the most well-known leakers on Twitter who has a reputation for being extremely accurate, worked with ESCM on the evaluation. Enthusiast Citizen has consistently provided accurate information on a variety of future CPUs. So let’s start with the requirements.

The Intel Core i9-13900K, which has 24 cores and 32 threads in an 8 P-Core (Raptor Cove) and 16 E-Core (Gracemont V2) configuration, is the top-tier Raptor Lake processor.

Core i9-13900K
credit: wccftech

The CPU is set up to run at 3.0 GHz base speed, 5.8 GHz single-core boost (1-2 cores), and 5.5 GHz all-core boost (all 8 P-Cores). The CPU has a 125W PL1 rating that goes up to 250W and 68 MB of shared cache.

Both DDR5 and DDR4 platforms were used to test the Intel Core i9-13900K. The Z690 Taichi Razer Edition and an unnamed Z790 motherboard were used, but the actual product name cannot be revealed due to NDA.

The motherboards were put through their paces with DDR5-6000 CL30 and DDR4-3600 CL17 memory kits, as well as a Radeon RX 6900 XTXH graphics card. The CPU was cooled by a NZXT Kraken X73 AIO. The CPU can support native memory speeds of up to DDR5-5600, whereas Alder Lake can only support DDR5-4800 native JEDEC speeds.

Enthusiast Citizen did the typical single-core, multi-core, and gaming application tests while OneRaichu evaluated the memory, bandwidth, and cache performance of the Raptor Lake Core i9-13900K and the Alder Lake Core i9-12900K.

OneRaichu demonstrates how the new ring bus design, which has a boosted frequency, enables all P-Cores and E-Cores to achieve a consistent latency and not dip to a lower frequency resulting in larger latencies as we observed with the Alder Lake CPUs. Next, we have the performance benchmarks.

Core i9-13900K
credit: wccftech

The total frequency & cache uplift allows for improved overall single-threaded performance, even though the IPC of the P-Core does not experience a significant bump as detailed above. The Raptor Lake Core i9-13900K provides a 12.5% improvement in single-threaded performance over Alder Lake. The Gracemont E-cores do experience a modest 6% rise in IPC performance, while the 13900K’s additional E-cores allow for significant multi-threaded performance gains. The flagship of the 13th generation performs 42% better on average than the previous generation, which is a significant improvement.

The outlet also tested a variety of games, and it appears that those that depend on CPU speed would experience a sizable bump, averaging approximately 10%. While the FPS does go up, the 13th Gen Raptor Lake CPUs’ larger L2 and L3 cache capacities are what really make a difference in the 0.1% lows.

Core i9-13900K
credit: wccftech

While the Intel Core i9-13900K consumes 253W at load in AIDA64’s FPU test, enabling “Unlimited Power Mode” increases Raptor Lake’s power consumption to 343W.

Because this is a stress test, real-world power usage in games and applications will vary, but Enthusiast Citizen will share those numbers later. The full review can be found here. It remains to be seen whether this significant performance boost will be sufficient for Intel to compete with AMD’s Ryzen 7000 CPUs, which have also significantly increased single and multi-threaded performance.
