Neeraj Chopra scripts history once again by becoming the first Indian to win the Diamond League title

Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra went on to script history once again by winning the Diamond League title for the first time as an Indian. Earlier, the 24- year old player couldn’t continue in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games to a “minor” groin injury that he developed during the World Championships in the previous month.

Chopra took a rest for a month but returned more potent this time. His throw of 89.08m was the third-best throw of his career. His second-best throw was 85.18m before the third attempt. His fourth throw was a foul whereas he passes the fifth attempt. On the sixth attempt, he threw the javelin to 80.04m distance.

Neeraj Chopra is from Khadra village near Panipat in Haryana and he became the first Indian who won a Diamond League crown. Prior to him, discus thrower Vikas Gowda was the only Indian who finished in the top three in the Diamond League Meet. Gowda had finished in the second position twice, Once in New York in 2012 and in Doha in 2014. He also finished third on two occasions, in Shanghai and Eugene in 2015.

What Neeraj Chopra has to say on his win?

“I am delighted with my result tonight. 89m is a great performance. I am specially pleased as I am coming back from an injury and tonight was a good indicator that I have recovered well,”

The youngster had qualified for the League finals in Zurich on September 7 and 8. Despite the win, he was in the fourth spot with only 15 points. The top six after Lausanne’s leg will qualify for the Zurich finals.

Intel Arc Alchemist A380 GPU shows decent performs in new Test

The Intel Arc Alchemist A380 graphics card, the only Arc GPU now available for desktops, has undergone extensive testing by PC Games Hardware, and the results show that it performs admirably for a newcomer. The website conducted the testing to show off how well Intel’s Arc drivers perform across a list of 50 games rather than to compare it to other graphics cards (older and modern).

Older games that use DX11, DX12, and OpenGL APIs have not yet received good support from Intel, despite the fact that the company has been working hard to optimise the performance of their Arc GPU in contemporary APIs like DX12 and Vulkan. And for a good cause. Intel has only lately entered the graphics card market, where firms like NVIDIA and AMD have long been present. Intel has put in a lot of effort to optimise and fix any errors and flaws in games that have been out for a while.

Intel is aiming to “optimise Arc GPU performance” for the APIs for DirectX 9 and 11, according to Lisa Pearce, vice president and general manager of the company’s Visual Compute Group.

Although DirectX 11 and 12 are similar, the newer API delivers additional improvements and fixes that were not present in earlier versions. For some gamers, the abundance of older games is fantastic since it gives them the chance to play award-winning games. However, because the technology is less sophisticated, consumers do not require strong graphic cards for earlier games.

The release of a new driver by Intel over a week ago that fixed several compatibility issues between their graphics card and the Control panel was not well received by the PC communities. Once more, Intel appears to be lagging behind NVIDIA and AMD in terms of their specific GPU technologies. Intel is learning what is necessary for more compatibility and optimization for the new Arc A380 with the aid of reviews from the tech community and other comments.

The Arc series drivers were split off by Intel, which results in erroneous system requirements that lead to problems like game startup errors. To guarantee that their products will function as intended, the business must also collaborate closely with video game developers. Arc A7 graphics, the premium-level graphics series that is predicted to fight with the other rival businesses, NVIDIA and AMD, is set to be released by Intel.

Nottingham Forest close to signing Renan Lodi

Personal terms have been finalised between the player and the club. And now, only the medical assessment and formalities need to be completed before he is announced as a new player for the club. The official announcement could come from the club as soon as today.

Over the course of the last two months, Forest have been able to sign almost an entire new squad to keep them up in the top flight. Sergio Reguilon is the rumoured option for Diego Simeone to replace Renan Lodi, once his departure is finalised.

Reguilon has been ruled out of the Spurs squad by Antonio Conte, with Ryan Sessegnon and Ivan Perisic the preferred options. The Spaniard will also be joining Atletico on a loan deal, and the final details will be sorted out soon.

Microsoft doesn’t seem to have any plans of increasing the prices of its Consoles anytime soon

The industry was taken aback by Sony’s move to raise the price of its PlayStation 5 game consoles in response to inflation rates and the state of the world economy because console manufacturers don’t often do this. Microsoft, however, would not imitate this move with its Xbox Series X|S devices as the firm has already done so.

Nearly two years after its release, Microsoft, like Sony, is still unable to satisfy the demand for its Xbox Series X gaming console.

Amazon exclusively sells these systems to invited, qualified clients. While Series X is only available from Newegg in combos priced significantly higher than the MSRP of $499, a $709 combo being the least expensive choice. Although there is a shortage of the Xbox Series X, Microsoft does not currently have any intentions to increase the price of the product.

Microsoft’s most recent Xbox Series X and Series S gaming consoles are marginally less popular than Sony’s PlayStation 5, whose life-to-date shipments have surpassed 22 million, with an estimated 16 million units sold worldwide. Sony’s PlayStation is often much more well-liked in Europe and Japan than Microsoft’s Xbox.

The most recent Xbox Series X|S gaming consoles from Microsoft are built on AMD system-on-chips that have Zen 2 general-purpose processors and an RDNA 2-based graphics processing unit. The most recent consoles from Sony and Microsoft even have the same RAM and storage sizes yet have similar, incompatible system designs (16GB GDDR6, 1TB storage). Sony employs its production capability and Foxconn’s services, whilst Microsoft uses Foxconn and Flextronics to manufacture their consoles.

Intel Core i9-13900 non-K CPU appears in New Benchmark Update

The Non-K Core i9-13900 with 24 cores and 32 threads has slipped out of an Intel Raptor Lake CPU test for a new day. The Intel Core i9-13900, discovered by Benchleaks, is a Non-K variant that is optimised for a base TDP of just 65W as opposed to the unlocked chip’s base TDP of 125W. (PL1). Although the maximum turbo power will undoubtedly be significantly greater, at roughly 200W, it won’t be as extreme as the 13900K’s 250W+ cap.

The Intel Core i9-13900 Raptor Lake CPU will have the same 24 cores, 32 threads, and 68 MB of total cache as the Core i9-13900K in terms of core arrangement. The Non-K chip’s clock speeds, which are rated at 2.0 GHz base clock & a maximum boost frequency of up to 5.6 GHz, and the previously mentioned power constraints, which are slightly lower for the Non-K device, are the only variations. 3.0 GHz base and 5.8 GHz boost clocks are features of the 13900K. The Non-K chip’s all-core clock management will also be somewhat conservative, so there won’t be as much of a boost in multi-core performance as there would be with the unlocked SKU.

In Geekbench 5, the Intel Core i9-13900 Non-K Raptor Lake CPU received scores of 2130 for the single-core test and 20131 for the multi-core test.

Core i9-13900
credit: wccftech

The single-core score is 26% quicker than the Ryzen 9 5950X and 10% faster than the Core i9-12900K for comparison. The multi-core score is still in the multi-digit range with a 17 percent improvement over the Core i9-12900K and a 22% improvement over the Ryzen 9 5950X, but not being as noteworthy as the 13900K.

The Intel Core i9-13900 Non-K Raptor Lake CPU performs 24% worse in multi-threaded tasks and 8% slower in single-core tasks when compared to the Core i9-13900K. This is quite good, but it demonstrates the extent to which Raptor Lake CPUs’ high multi-threading capabilities depend on power. A TDP and power-conservative environment will significantly reduce the 13th Gen chip’s multi-core output.

On the Z790 platform, the Intel 13th Gen Raptor Lake desktop CPUs, including the flagship Core i9-13900K, are anticipated to go on sale in October. The Ryzen 7000 CPU family from AMD, which also debuts in the fall of 2022, will compete against these CPUs. Raptor Lake’s initial SKUs will only have K-series processors, with Non-K CPUs and standard motherboards following soon after.

BREAKING: Ajax wantaway star Antony finally on the verge of joining Manchester United for around €100m

New Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag is a huge fan of his former player Antony. He has always wanted to sign the Brazilian to strengthen the United attack. However, Ajax have been reluctant to see the 22-year-old. The Dutch side rejected an €80 million offer for the player and wanted more from the Premier League club.

It was rumoured that Manchester United would offer around €100 million as their next bid, but United bid €90 million bid for the player and as a result, Ajax rejected their last bid as well.

However, things have taken a sudden turn after Antony gave an exclusive interview with Fabrizio Romano and made his desire to leave Ajax this summer pretty clear.

So, now it has been reported that Antony’s transfer to Manchester United is imminent. The Red Devils will bid €100m for the Brazilian and Ajax are all set to accept the offer after Antony’s public appeal to let him leave and pursue the next step of his career.

BREAKING: Ajax wantaway star Antony finally on the verge of joining Manchester United for around €100m

The proposed transfer fee for the impending move of Antony from Ajax to Manchester United is understood to be €100m including add-ons.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to the imminent transfer of Antony to Manchester United:

Amazon drops bomb on rumors of it Buying EA

According to sources cited by CNBC on Friday, Amazon.com Inc is not anticipated to make a bid for Electronic Arts Inc (EA.O), disproving a previous rumour that the online retailer would do so today.

Following the USA Today article on Amazon’s buyout offer for the owner of “FIFA” and “Apex Legends,” EA shares increased 15% in premarket trading. Early trading saw a 4% increase in the stock, giving the business a market value of almost $37 billion.

As far as rumours and M&A speculation go, Amazon and EA said they don’t comment. With around $37 billion in cash on hand, Amazon has begun looking for acquisitions to expand its company outside cloud computing and e-commerce under the leadership of new CEO Andy Jassy.

Just weeks after deciding to purchase primary healthcare provider One Medical for $3.5 billion, the business made an offer earlier this month to purchase Roomba manufacturer iRobot Corp for $1.7 billion.

Twitch’s owner, Amazon, also paid $8.5 billion to acquire MGM Studios, the company behind the “Rocky” and “James Bond” films.

According to analysts, EA is a desirable choice for digital firms trying to catch the attention of a younger audience because of its robust licences, intellectual property rights, and capacity to create new games in the metaverse.

Bets on the metaverse had also been the driving force behind Microsoft Corp.’s $68.7 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard Inc., the company behind “Call of Duty” and an EA competitor.

As the pandemic-driven increase in demand ebbs, the latest deals are also erasing the distinction between personal computer and mobile gaming companies and coming against the backdrop of a faltering global gaming industry.

According to research firm Newzoo’s data, the worldwide gaming market is only predicted to expand by 2% in 2022 compared to the previous year, a sharp decline from the 23% growth seen in 2020.

EA predicted disappointing adjusted sales figures, claiming that it was not “totally immune” to the recession. Prior to Thursday’s closure, its shares had dropped by around 3%, as opposed to Take-nearly Two’s 30% decline.

Intel Raptor Lake Core i3-13900 Processor posts amazing 5.58GHz Boost Clock in Geekbench

This time, someone supposedly revealed the specifications and performance numbers of Intel’s 65W Core i9-13900 processor by posting benchmark results to the Geekbench 5 database (via @BenchLeaks). Take the numbers with a grain of salt for the time being.

With eight high-performance Raptor Cove cores with Hyper-Threading (optimised Golden Cove cores) and 16 energy-efficient Gracemont cores without simultaneous multithreading, the Intel Core i9-13900 is a fully-fledged Raptor Lake silicon chip that can handle up to 32 threads at once. In contrast, the Intel Core i9-12900 can handle up to 24 threads at once because it contains eight Golden Cove and eight Gracemont cores.

The Core i9-13900 CPU from Intel appears to have more energy-efficient cores than the Core i9-12900.

Intel

Its performance in multi-threaded applications is considerably impacted by this, although it also has significantly higher turbo clocks for the performance cores—5576 MHz vs. 5081 MHz. This would suggest a pronounced advantage in workloads with only one thread.

The new 65W Raptor Lake CPU looks to outperform the 65W Alder Lake processor on Geekbench 5’s single-core integer and single-core floating point workloads by 17% and 12%, respectively, because to its high turbo clocks and a larger L3 cache.

At least according to a synthetic benchmark, the new CPU appears to be 9.6% faster in integer and 15% faster in floating point workloads when it comes to multi-thread workloads.
