Samsung will unveil Galaxy S23 Ultra, the purported successor to the Galaxy S22 Ultra, with Qualcomm’s 3D Sonic Max fingerprint scanning technology. The Galaxy S23 Ultra could be the only handset in the series to be equipped with the sensor, according to the report, which claims that Samsung’s Mobile Experience (MX) division has conveyed this information to major camera partners of the company.

Google likely to support WearOS smartwatch backups to Google One

Google is attempting to improve the experience for Android devices as we see more and more WearOS devices being introduced into the market, the latest APK Teardown by XDA Developers reveals. The strings in the beta version 22.32.12 build of the Google Play Services app reveals that the tech giant is prepping to add support for backing up one’s smartwatch data when users switch to a new device.

Google One, the paid subscription from the company also makes an appearance in the string. The string is titled: companion_backup_opt_in_title which has the following prompts, Back up your device with Google One/Backup by Google One/ Choose backup account.

The Settings and management of device data backups for Android and iOS can be witnessed in the Google One app and a subscription is not needed in order to be able to access this feature. Those who do opt to subscribe will pay for extra storage on their account which means that a feature such as backup will not be a paid one.

Last summer, Dell debuted their top-of-the-line 4K webcam to generally positive reviews. Its physical appearance, visual clarity, and 60 fps option were commended by critics. The less expensive model this year may forego 4K imaging, but it fills the main gap left by its forerunner.

Dell just unveiled a new webcam that is essentially the $200 UltraSharp 4K model’s younger sibling. The Pro 2K WB5023, priced at $135, can be a suitable choice if you don’t want 4K and want to save money.

Dell’s new camera has an inbuilt noise reduction mic to ensure that your conversation sounds clear despite the cheaper price. The absence of a mic on the 4K model is arguably its worst flaw.

When compared to Dell’s top-end model, the new one suffers from a few significant compromises. The obvious change from 4K to 2K in the maximum resolution comes first (2,560 x 1,440 pixels, AKA QHD). Both versions can only broadcast at 30 frames per second in their highest resolutions, but they can achieve 60 frames per second in 1080p or 720p.

The more recent webcam from Dell still has the digital overlap HDR technology of its predecessor for better auto exposure and light correction, although it only does this at 1080p.

Users who are concerned about FOV should also be aware that the Pro 2K only retains the 65- and 70-degree options, losing the UltraSharp’s 90-degree option. Its maximum zoom level is also lower, at 4x than the flagship model’s, which is 5x.

The Pro 2K’s sole USB port is a regular USB-A, whereas its predecessor included a detachable USB-C to USB-A adaptor. This is a final, much smaller sacrifice. Pro users should not forget to purchase a separate converter when using USB-C connections.

To eliminate grain and motion blur, the more recent model still uses 3DNR temporal and 2DNR spatial noise reduction. Along with the magnetic lens privacy cover, auto framing, which pans and zooms the field of view without physically moving the camera, is still functional.

Software like Skype for Business, Google Hangouts, Cisco Webex, FaceTime, Slack, GoToMeeting, BlueJeans, Google Meet, and Lifesize are all compatible with both cameras. Although they work with both Windows and macOS, the built-in Dell Peripheral Manager software is only compatible with Windows.

About two and a half minutes after launch, the rocket’s first and second stages separated, and at that point, each stage finished its individual mission-completion procedures. A little more than 15 minutes after launch, the second stage travelled deeper into space to release the Starlink satellite payload.

The first stage, on the other hand, started its post-separation return journey to land successfully on the SpaceX droneship “A Shortfall of Gravitas” in the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Florida.

The frequency and track record of SpaceX’s launches are nothing short of remarkable. The corporation has comfortably surpassed 2021’s record of 31 orbital launches in a year with the 37 orbital launches that have been reported so far this year. Following two launches earlier this month, one was conducted yesterday. On August 10, Starlink Group 4-26 was successfully launched from the Kennedy Space Center. The successful deployment of Starlink Group 3-3 from the Vandenberg Space Force Base on August 12 came after that launch. Currently, SpaceX intends to send out two further launch groups on August 28 and August 30 from Kennedy and Vandenberg.

A network of tiny, mass-produced satellites called Starlink is used to connect underserved areas to the internet by communicating with earth-based transceivers. Currently, 39 nations in Europe, North America, and South America have access to the network’s broadband services. Ukraine, which received terminals and access in reaction to the Russian invasion in February 2022, is covered under the list of nations.

As the economic crisis worsens, Twitter, which is run by Parag Agrawal, has informed its staff that they will only receive half of their yearly bonuses. Ned Segal, Twitter’s chief financial officer, informed staff that market circumstances throughout the world would have an impact on their annual incentives, with the “bonus pool currently at 50 per cent of what it could be if the company met its financial targets,” according to The New York Times.

According to Segal, who sent an email to Twitter employees on Friday, the annual bonus amount could change even more throughout the course of the year depending on the company’s expected revenues. Around the world, the company has more than 7,500 employees. 30% of Twitter’s talent acquisition team employees were let go last month.

Except for positions deemed to be business-critical by “Staff” members, Twitter had previously stopped the majority of new hires and backfills.

After two years of online-only live streams, Opening Night Live 2022 will be the first live ONL performance to take place in person since 2019. The official website of the event has tickets available for individuals attending Gamescom in Cologne, Germany.

Starting at 11 a.m. PT / 2 p.m. ET on August 23, Opening Night Live will be streamed. According to Geoff Keighley’s tweet from above, the live stream will feature “30+ games” throughout a two-hour event. Prior ONLs included announcements during a half-hour pre-show, but a pre-show for 2022 has not yet been confirmed. Opening Night Live will be streamed live in English throughout several nations, but there will also be subtitles available.

Iraq (2008 & 2009)

Iraq is one of the powerhouses in the middle-east. Despite their stature in Asian football, they were banned by FIFA in 2008 due to Iraqi government interference. In 2008, Iraq dissolved its National Olympic Committee and National Sports Federations, leading FIFA to ban them.

Despite escaping the FIFA sanctions in 2008, Iraq were banned again in 2009. In response to the dissolution of the Iraqi Football Federation by the Iraqi Olympic Committee, FIFA imposed a ban on Iraq. Iraq’s female team, however, received an exception from FIFA. 

Brunei (2009)

FIFA suspended the Football Association of Brunei (BAFA) due to government interference in its affairs.”It started with a decision by the Brunei authorities to dissolve BAFA and to replace it with a new federation in December 2008,” FIFA said in a statement.

Nigeria (2014)

FIFA suspended the Guatemalan Football Federation (FEDEFUT,) in a fight over the powers given to its appointed oversight committee to look into allegations of corruption. FEDEFUT did not recognise the committee had said in a statement its suspension was due to its federation’s members’ refusal to allow an election for a new executive committee.

Indonesia (2015)

FIFA imposed a ban on Indonesia after its government abolished the Football Association in 2015 and replaced it with its own committee. Indonesia was given until May 29 to resolve the problem but when the deadline passed, FIFA’s executive committee invoked the suspension.

Guatemala (2016)

FIFA decided to ban Guatemala in October 2016 after the Directors of the Football Federation declined to recognize the committee saying it is against the country’s laws. It took two years for Gautamela to lift the ban. The said directors claimed that it was against the regulations of country’s governing body.

Benin (2016)

Fifa suspended the Benin Football Federation (FBF) from global football after the intervention of a judicial body in the country blocked upcoming elections of the Federation. “The Benin Football Association (FBF) was suspended with immediate effect due to a recent injunction by a local judicial court which impeded the holding of the due election,” read the official statement.

Pakistan (2017)

In October 2017, Pakistan was banned by FIFA from competing in international competitions due to “undue third-party interference.” This was after PFF’s offices and accounts were under the control of a court-appointed administrator, which violated FIFA’s statutes.

Chad (2021)

Chad was disqualified from the Africa Cup of Nations after quarrels between the sports ministry and the football federation led the government to set up a new committee to manage the sport by presidential decree. The government interference led to a ‘third-party intervention’ violation as per the FIFA Statutes leading to the suspension.

Kenya (2022)

In February 2022, FIFA suspended the Football Kenya Federation (KFK) because of government intervention in the body’s operation, citing ‘third-party interference’ as a violation of its statutes. Kenya’s Sports ministry disbanded the KFK after allegations of misappropriation of funds and a caretaker committee was appointed in November 2021 – something that went against the rulebook of football’s apex body.

Zimbabwe (2022)

FIFA banned Zimbabwe in February 2022 after the Zimbabwean FA (ZIFA) was suspended by the country’s government-appointed Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC). The SRC intervened after allegations of sexual harassment of female referees by technical staff and allegations of fraud within ZIFA.
