The newest member of Samsung‘s Odyssey gaming monitor family, the Odyssey Ark G97NB display, was just released. a curved 55″ screen on the Odyssey Ark G97NB, is one of the craziest and strangest gaming monitors on the globe with a panel and a 165Hz refresh rate.

A circle with a radius of 1 meter (3.3 feet) or 1000R, which is the curvature of the Odyssey Ark G97NB’s 55″ 4K monitor, has a radius of 3.3 feet or 1 meter. It also features a normal 16:9 aspect ratio and a 3,840 X 2,160-pixel resolution.

The cockpit mode, in which the entire display is rotated 90 degrees on its axis to form a long and broad vertical display, is the Odyssey Ark G97NB’s most striking feature. Together with the panel’s 14-bit processor, the Odyssey Ark G97NB’s Quantum Mini LEDs enable 1056 local dimming. It also boasts a static contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 and 16,384 black levels.

It provides “Quantum HDR 2000,” which corresponds to a peak brightness of roughly 2,000 nits. The display has a matte texture to reduce glare and reflections. The display boasts a 165Hz refresh rate and a 1ms grey-to-grey response time, and it supports FreeSync Premium Pro. The Neural Quantum Processor Ultra can also convert older games to 4K resolution.

The stand that comes with the box can be adjusted for height and tilt and offers three different wall mount options (200×200, 300×300, and 400×400). You can tilt the screen 90 degrees in cockpit mode so that the bottom part is largely vertical and the rest hangs overhead.

The Odyssey Ark contains an integrated audio system with four speakers—one in each corner—and two woofers at the bottom. These speakers have a combined output of 60W and a frequency response as low as 45Hz.

Other Features and Pricing

The Odyssey Ark G97NB is the same size as four 22.5″ monitors, so it may also be utilized in a borderless multi-monitor setup. It does have four HDMI inputs to help with that. If you put it in Cockpit mode, you can also have a vertical stack of three virtual displays each measuring 27″.

You can also change the image size between 55″ and 27″ and the aspect ratio from 16:9 through 21:9 to 32:9. The Ark Dial is solar-powered, just as the remote controls for recent Samsung TVs. The monitor has several helpful gaming features.

Top Valorant teams took the stage at TEC Arena presented by AMD and Windows 11 with INR 15,00,000 prize pool

BENGALURU, INDIA, August 17, 2022: Lenovo, the global technology leader, has announced the winners of TEC Arena, the largest offline LAN event for Valorant in partnership with the Esports Club. The event presented by AMD and Windows 11 with Lenovo as the laptop partner is a one-of-a-kind esports festival that aims to celebrate the top Valorant teams in the region.

Enigma Gaming won the TEC Challenger Series 8 with a 3-1 victory over Velocity Gaming. The winner was decided using a best-of-five format where Velocity Gaming won the first game before Enigma Gaming made a comeback to win three games back-to-back. Earlier in the lower finals,  Enigma Gaming defeated Orangutan Esports 2-0 to advance to the grand finals.

Calls for eSports to be made professional

There are more calls for eSports to be seen as a professional sport in India and should be regulated differently from online gaming. 

At the eSports Conference 2022, which saw the industry’s top experts and gamers gather to discuss the future of their craft, there was a collective desire to establish a grassroots structure in the country to help develop the sport. 

There was a recognition that more than 60 sporting federations worldwide recognise eSports and that India is falling behind the curb in providing a viable platform for its country’s best competitors to battle.

Vlad Marinescu, President of the International Esports Federation (IESF), said: “eSports needs skill, practice, dedication, and support, and it is important to recognise eSports as a sport because it is a game of the future which is being played by more than half of the world. The International gaming business last year was 170 billion dollars, it is by far the biggest industry on earth, bigger than movies, music and all traditional sports combined.”

Mr Marinescu’s points have been largely echoed by tax experts, who are fighting tooth and nail with the government to contest a 28% hike on Goods and Services Tax (GST), which many fear will decimate the online entertainment industry. 

Will eSports get preferential treatment from the government? Why would the failure to separate eSports from gambling have disastrous consequences for the economy and the safety of Indian citizens?

How Will GST Hike Impact eSports?

A recent news conference held by three online gaming industry bodies issued a joint statement expressing their fears of the “catastrophic” impact the GST rise will have on a sunrise industry. 

The All India Gaming Federation, E-Gaming Federation, and Federation of Indian Fantasy Sports represent over 90% of India’s online skill gaming market. They are calling for a progressive tax regime to replace the proposals, which will impose an increased tax rate and then levy the tax on the entire contest entry amount (instead of GGR). 

“If you were to charge an increased tax rate on the entire quantum (pooled money plus commission), it is not only principally incorrect but will also annihilate this sunrise sector,” Sameer Barde, CEO of the E-Gaming Federation, said. 

Anwar Shirpurwala, the Federation of Indian Fantasy Sports CEO, agrees. He told the conference: “Global studies have shown that incidence of taxation, on prize money instead of gaming revenue, lead to reduced tax collections for the exchequer and ends up giving a fillip to the black-market operators at the expense of legitimate tax paying players.” 

Why It’s Important To Differentiate Between Online Gaming and Online Gambling?

Many observers question whether the tax proposals result from a fundamental misunderstanding between online gaming and online gambling. By lumping in the former with the latter, they are essentially advocating that an online gamer that plays against competitors of a similar skill set is identical to those engaging in cricket betting

Like many local Indian courts have adjudged, shutting down skill-based online gaming businesses would be unconstitutional, yet pressing ahead with a crippling tax continues to be the operatus morandi of this government.

The issues for the participants in the eSports sector and other entertainment industries arising from this tax policy are apparent. It will force thousands of players to play in underground, unregulated environments. Any confidence from the Indian government that eSports will remain legally popular for a tech-savvy and enlightened generation is misplaced. 

As well as decimating potential profits for a vast sector, it may cost the government large swathes of possible taxation income. With the public perception of betting in India improving throughout the nation, industry observers are pleading with the government to capitalise on the growing goodwill to the sector.

Elon Musk Jokes about purchases Manchester United

Elon Musk, the billionaire founder of Tesla, briefly ignited the conversation over Manchester United’s future by tweeting that he was purchasing the ailing Premier League team, only to later clarify that the tweet was part of a “long-running joke.”

He did not make it obvious how he felt about star striker Cristiano Ronaldo’s discontent or the contentious new coach Eric ten Hag’s insistence on passing out from the back, but he did state that if he were to purchase a sports team, “it would be Man U. They were my fav team as a kid”.

The outspoken businessman’s statement provided hope—albeit momentarily—to supporters who want to get rid of the team’s present owners, the Florida-based Glazer family since the squad is currently anchored to the bottom of the league following a humiliating 4-0 away loss to Brentford.


Musk, who is known for his irreverent tweets, later clarified that he was not purchasing any sports franchises.

According to its current stock market valuation, buying United, one of the biggest football teams in the world, would have cost Musk at least £2 billion.

The Glazers, who acquired Manchester United in a highly leveraged deal for £790 million ($955.51 million) in 2005, are facing rising fan protests as a result of the club’s recent on-field struggles.


After United participated in an unsuccessful attempt to establish a breakaway European Super League last year, the anti-Glazer campaign gathered steam.

But given Musk’s penchant for making rash statements and running afoul of market regulators, a takeover by the billionaire would have been a case of out of the frying pan and into the fire for the club.

Many others were quick to point out that Musk has also boasted about colonising Mars and increasing birthrates on Earth. He also offered to buy Twitter for $44 billion before the deal fell through in July.

Given the club’s modest standing and the fact that it was used to finishing towards the top of the league rather than at the bottom, the fans’ reactions were a mix of confusion and optimism.
