Tesla leaks their Supercharger network subscription plans for US customers

Several intriguing pieces of information have started to leak as Tesla prepares to announce the availability of its Supercharger network of stations to owners of other electric vehicle brands. The first was Tesla’s request for financial assistance in the White House initiative to build a countrywide network of EV charging stations. Tesla claimed that its Superchargers should be qualified for awards so long as an equivalent stall with a CCS connector was constructed at the location.

The government, on the other hand, has demanded that it make its Supercharger network accessible to non-Tesla owners, as it does in Europe, and has even asserted that Tesla is getting ready to do so by the end of the year. Next, information about the combined Supercharger stall, which Tesla is said to be calling the Magic Dock, leaked. It has a clever Tesla/CCS connecting device that enables charging of both Tesla and non-Tesla vehicles at the same station with the simple addition or removal of an adapter.

However, the exact costs of the monthly subscription service for the Tesla Supercharger network for other electric vehicle manufacturers have now been revealed on the Tesla app.

Even though the choice was later eliminated, one astute owner was able to get a snapshot showing the new Tesla Supercharger subscription option costs:

  • Pay-as-you-go Supercharger network subscription plan: no price discount per kWh.
  • $0.99 monthly Supercharger network subscription plan: discounted kWh price.

The Supercharger network subscription option for other automobiles was swiftly removed from Tesla’s website, but some additional information regarding the new service was still released. For instance, each Tesla account must have a separate dedicated subscription, which entitles the member to up to five charging sessions at Tesla stations every day.

Tesla may be attempting to undercut the Electrify America network of superfast chargers, whose monthly subscription option price is now set at US$4 and decreases the individual kWh price by around 20%, even though the US$0.99 monthly subscription price looks quite low and maybe a typo.

In the Netherlands, the price per kWh for non-Tesla owners topping up at Tesla Superchargers is more than twice as high as for Tesla cars if they choose not to subscribe to the €12.99/month fee. Tesla may be preparing a similar price discrepancy for US electric car drivers as well.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe makes the ambition to buy Manchester United known

0

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the richest man in Britain, has registered his interest in buying a stake in Manchester United. The Glazers have become extremely unpopular among supporters in recent years, with the decline of the club causing progressively higher levels of unrest every year.

Ratcliffe’s spokesperson told The Times: “If the club is for sale, Jim is definitely a potential buyer.

“If something like this was possible, we would be interested in talking with a view to long-term ownership.

“This is not about the money that has been spent or not spent. Jim is looking at what can be done now and, knowing how important the club is to the city, it feels like the time is right for a reset.”

Sir Jim Ratcliffe open to buying Manchester United stake

The 69-year-old came up with a late bid to buy Chelsea earlier this year, pitching that he had the finances to get the deal done quickly. However, the previous ownership stuck to the deadlines and have now passed on the club to Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is now interested in buying a part of his hometown club, which could potentially help with the current issue of unrest among supporters.

Manchester United currently have debt worth around £500 million, which is mainly due to mismanagement courtesy of the Glazers. There has also been very little investment in maintaining Old Trafford, all of which has upset the fans. If the chance to buy the club is available, Ratcliffe is expected to be in line to get the deal over the line.

Casemiro considering Manchester United move with contract worth €430k per week on the table

Casemiro is expected to have a conversation with Florentino Perez today to determine his future. The player received a massive offer from Manchester United, worth around €430,000 per week, which is double his current salary.

The Brazilian will talk with Carlo Ancelotti and Perez to understand the situation as it stands. However, he has been given the liberty to decide his future by the club. Real Madrid have a potential replacement in the form of Aurelien Tchouameni, and would not stand in his way if he chose to leave the club.

Casemiro to decide on Real Madrid future soon

Manchester United have failed to sign a defensive midfielder in the last two months. They were in the market to sign Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona, but have not heard from him after his decision to not join the club.

In light of the recent run of poor results, United have started to exercise their financial power to lure players to Old Trafford. Hence, the humongous financial offer presented to Casemiro.

The two clubs would potentially agree to a transfer for €70 million, which would see the midfielder reunite with Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane. He would be a huge upgrade on Scott McTominay and Fred, who have been struggling in defensive midfield.

A final decision surrounding Casemiro’s future is expected very soon, with little time left for the market to close.

Manchester United to make one last offer for Antony before the transfer window closes

Manchester United are expected to make another offer for Ajax winger Antony soon. The Dutch club had quoted a minimum price tag of €80 million for the player earlier in the transfer window.

Their reluctance to sell the player also pushed United away. But, they are now back for the Brazilian again, and are prepared to offer more money to get the deal over the line. Despite the revival in the interest for Antony, Ajax are just as unwilling to sell the player. So, getting the deal done will be very difficult at this stage.

Manchester United haven’t given up on signing Antony yet

The skilled winger is one of Ajax’s best players, and it is very unlikely that he will be moving this late in the transfer window. He was very influential under Erik Ten Hag, and one last effort is being made by United to sign him.

Cody Gakpo is one of the names on the transfer list for Manchester United as well. The youngster was linked with Arsenal for the majority of the transfer window, but no transfer materialised. Manchester United will find it easier to sign the PSV forward, but are exploring the options for Antony first.

They are also linked with Christian Pulisic of Chelsea, with a loan deal looking likely. But, Todd Boehly is reluctant to let the USMNT captain leave and join their rivals. Manchester United are also trying to sign Casemiro, a backup goalkeeper and a new right-back before the window shuts on August 31.
