Intel Raptor Lake Core i5-13400 Desktop CPU is 30% faster than its Alder Lake Counterpart

0

Intel’s Core i5-13400 Desktop CPU has been tested by Jawara, an Indonesian tech publication, and shows up to a 30% improvement over its predecessor. According to recent reports, certain Asian stores have already begun selling the Intel 13th Gen Non-K CPUs ahead of their January launch.

The CPUs will be joined by a new B760 motherboard selection when they are released on January 3rd. While this isn’t the first time we’ve seen benchmarks for this particular chip, it is the first time a retail chip has been leaked.

The Intel Core i5-13400 CPU has six P-cores and four E-cores, for a total of ten cores and sixteen threads. The basic clock speed of the CPU is 2.5 GHz, with a boost clock speed of 4.1 GHz across all cores and 4.6 GHz on a single core. The CPU has 28 MB of L3 cache and a PL1 TDP of 65W and a PL2 TDP of roughly 120W. Given its performance boost and roughly $200 US price, the CPU should be a big seller in the budget market, where Intel’s 12th Gen series already dominates.

In terms of performance, the Intel Core i5-13400 was pitted against the Core i5-12400 in a series of short tests.

An ASRock B660M PG Riptide motherboard and 16 GB of DDR4-3600 memory were used in the testing. The Core i5-13400 CPU outperforms the i5-12400 by 6% in Cinebench R23 single-thread, and by 30% in multi-threaded tests. In Blender and Adobe Premier, the CPU also sends up to 22% faster.

Core i5-13400
Intel Core i5-13400 vs Core i5-12400 CPU Power & Temps (Credits: Jawara)

The power and temperature figures are the most essential. In Cinebench R23 Multi-threaded testing, the Intel Core i5-13400 consumed 30% more power than the Core i5-12400 (86W vs 66W) while maintaining temperatures around the 60C mark, which is very fantastic to see. Again, the Core i5-13400 shouldn’t significantly increase wattage statistics in gaming, and those should be lower than the 30% increase shown in multi-threaded benchmarks like Cinebench R23.

Faadu: Sony LIV’s new Love Drama film Beautifully Depicts the Reality of this Society

0

SonyLIV has dropped the new trailer of the love drama film titled, ‘Faadu’. This tale has revolved around greed and survival which indicates well without any firm grip. This is the streaming platform with the protagonist Abhay has written down a poem for a couple of minutes and reciting it to Manjari late at night. She’s late to return to her hostel and doesn’t mind.

Manjari tears up listening to the poem, but the next second Abhay tears up the paper instead and tells her that poetry doesn’t attract him at all. Why she asks. Tiwari allows the shot to stay a second longer on Abhay’s face and it tells us how Abhay’s circumstances have forced him to become this mercenary, even though he would want to explore other interests.

Faadu

The film beautifully depicts this pensive deliberation of its protagonist. With the purposeful work that tries to stop you in the tracks and consider these people who are trying to rise above their present circumstances. It is a template that has worked well for the director, whose Nil Battey Sannata, Bareilly Ki Barfi, and even Panga are portraits of dogged resilience.  Faadu stumbled quite early on, and never fully recovers from there on. We meet Abhay first, who announces in a voiceover that a person who studies for a degree doesn’t really understand the world. We also meet Manjari along the way, who hails from Konkan and travels to Mumbai for her college.

It doesn’t stop Manjari from hopelessly falling in love with him as she has written back to her father regularly about her relationships, and calls him a living poem in comparison with him Namdeo Dhasal. Abhay is having a recurring line of not being able to chase his dreams. Yet the way he chases his dreams, by gambling and then losing his father’s auto and their house in a matter of seconds boasts of nothing else but miscalculated recklessness.

There is no zeal, only a sense of callous overconfidence. An entire episode is wasted following Abhay’s persistence that he has it in him to win the gambling bet. He even submits a down payment to book a room in a multi Storey building on a whim. Manjari of course nods to every decision he makes with a submissive, teary-eyed glance. But then the entire decision is beautifully neglected and we move back to square one.

As if Abhay and Manjari have forgotten about it entirely. We haven’t. They marry soon, and in another unintentionally hilarious scene, Abhay begins to play the pipe in his own wedding because he believes he is good at it.

The slowing pace is not the main problem, but the narratives don’t suites the track. The characters visit as immature and lazy, careless and stubborn. Faadu wishes to work with a love story but there’s no love that can get minimum in the never-ending stares that unveils Abhay and Manjari seem to communicate with.

There is no such chemistry between the leads and the central love story barely achieves prominence in the painful progression of events. Manjar is working on her thesis, wishing to buy a book for her research on Shakespeare, and to save money she states that she would rather sit in the shop and take notes than buy the book. The journey going to leave you with the same disappointment and exhaustion deriving its title.

Pavail Gulati left no effort undone to put his best and was quite sincere in the way he responds to the numerous turns of the narrative but there’s that odd upper-class English accent that instantly rattles off the believability.

Saiyami Kher’s Manjari is terribly one-note and never fully draws in as a portrait of a modern woman who has her own dreams and ambition. Abhilash Thapliyal’s performance is perhaps the only tune that rings true in Faadu.

This is mainly such a disappointing addition to Tiwari’s oeuvre working that fails to get a uniform sense of direction. Faadu has presented itself as a love story that stretched more than 11 episodes.

Faadu: Release Date

SonyLIV dropped the film on 9th December. The movie is already streaming on SonyLIV.

Here is the trailer:

Data reveals India’s Employable talent leaps from 46.2% to 50.3%

0
  • Automotive, Engineering & Internet Businesses will capitalise on the Job Market, helping India create a skilled and employable workforce.
  • Huge demand of Internship Opportunities: 89% of Graduates seek Internship opportunities
  • Gender Gap in Employability improves

The Wheebox India Skills Report 2023, in collaboration with CII, Taggd, AICTE, AIU, Sunstone, Pearson, AWS and Economic Times, examines the demand and supply for talent and hiring intent of jobs. The findings of the report suggest that in contrast with last year’s employability figures of 46.2%, 50.3% of young people were found to be highly employable overall, according to ISR 2023, which is a significant improvement. The percentage of employable women workforce has increased to 52.8%, compared to 47.2% for men.

The report also points out that 89% of graduates were actively seeking for internship opportunities. The survey indicates that candidates from Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Delhi had the highest employability. Amongst B.Tech, MBA and B.Com were found to be the most employable talent from amongst various domains.

Mumbai, Lucknow & Mangalore were the cities with the most employable talent and the most preferred cities for work by graduates were Bangalore, Chennai and Delhi/NCR.

Speaking on this occasion, Nirmal Singh, Chief Convenor of India Skills Report, Founder & CEO, Wheebox said, “As we celebrate India at 75, it is imperative now that we harness the demographic dividend. The world is rapidly ageing, but India is still young. In the next few decades, India will be a talent powerhouse and one of the largest contributors to the global workforce.”

He added, “If India’s demographic dividend is productively leveraged, growth prospects will brighten, helping it to leapfrog its GDP from the current $3 trillion+ to double by 2030. Globally, of the total workforce in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), women have only 28% representation, a sorry state of affairs indeed.”

If the country needs to realize true talent potential, the focus should be training and skilling more women in technology by promoting skilling, entrepreneurship, and market linkage support to women building technology start-ups and tech-driven businesses. I believe that if India focuses on two key metrics: more female participation in STEM and more female workforce participation, India will double its economy in half the time it would take otherwise to do so”.

“India is set out on a path of growth and its fast moving private industry has been one of the defining factors. There is a renewed need and focus on upskilling fresh talent to meet and adapt with the demands of the ever evolving industry. At Sunstone, we are involved in bridging the widening gap between the industry and academia and trying to reduce the gap between acquired knowledge and required knowledge.

India Skill Report 2023 highlights the specifics of skill gaps pertaining to different sectors, geographies and industry. Sunstone -as its education partner is committed to the vision of skilling India and reaching out to the last mile aspirant via our offering” said Piyush Nangru, Co Founder and COO Sunstone.

Data reveals India’s Employable talent leaps from 46.2% to 50.3%

The report points out that India will be hiring most in the Automotive, Engineering and Internet Business. Additionally, companies across India show a hiring intent of 36.08% for the demand forecast of 2023. The report also pointed out that the courses most in demand in 2023 will be B.Com and MBA with the most employable talent at 60.62% and 60.1% respectively. BE/B.Tech domain candidates are the third most employable, in the domain-wise employability category, with employability being 57.44%. According to the study, the demand for skilled labour is being driven by the BFSI, pharmaceutical, e-commerce, and IT/ITES sectors. Freshmen hiring in these fields is projected to increase by 20% in 2023 compared to 2022

Leverage the highly employable women resources

India’s female participation in the workforce currently stands at 33% as compared to 67% participation for their male counterparts. Interestingly the employability for female talent is around 5.6% more than that of men. If India aspires to become a global leader in providing skilled talent, then it is recommended that more policy-level changes are needed to increase workforce participation both in the private sector as well as the government sector.

Rajasthan was reported to have the greatest percentage of employable females who were prepared for the workforce (53.56%) while Uttar Pradesh came in second with 46.51% of employable women.

Given the significant shift in gender-based employability over time—more women have regularly been found to be highly employable than men over the past few years—the positive consequences of cultural and economic developments are encouraging

The India Skills Report is a synthesis of two independent and complementary studies: the Wheebox National Employability Test, which examined young employability, and the India Hiring Intent Survey – Early Career Edition 2023, a primary research survey done for 150+ corporates across 15 industries. The Wheebox National Employability Test, or WNET, examined students’ employability by assessing their work readiness for India’s changing employment market.

World Test Championship race explained: Possibility of each team qualifying for the WTC Finals

0

The race for securing a place in the World Test Championship won’t be easy for the teams. While India is in a very tough position in fourth place, needing to win all the games to get into the finale.

On Tuesday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) gave its opinion about each team wanting to secure a place in the WTC finale. In this article, let’s have a look at the scenarios in which the teams can qualify for the finale.

1. South Africa

South Africa has 71.43 percent of possible points. Their remaining series will be against England (away, three Tests), West Indies (home, two Tests), and Australia (away, three Tests). The Proteas must win at least three of their remaining five games. The Proteas have performed well during the current cycle, particularly in 2021 when they defeated Bangladesh 2-0, drew 1-1 in New Zealand, and overcame India 2-1 at home.

2. Australia

Australia has 70 percent possible points to qualify. Their remaining games are against West Indies (home, two Tests), South Africa (home, three Tests), India (away, four Tests). The Pat Cummins-led team has to win at least three of its last seven games. It may also be sufficient to have two victories and a tie in order to secure one of the seats for the WTC final.

The men in green have 51.58 percent of the possible points. They will be playing against England (home, three Tests), and New Zealand (home, two Tests). If Pakistan wins all of those remaining games, their percentage will rise to 69.05, which may be enough to earn them a spot in the first World Test Championship final. They have already lost the test against England, so they’re in a difficult place now.

6. West Indies

This team has 50 percent of the possible points. They will be playing the remaining series against South Africa (away, two Tests), and Australia (away, two Tests). The West Indies can end with 65.38 percent but would need to win all four games in an away format to get a spot in the WTC23 championship game.

7. England

Lionel Messi under investigation by FIFA for comments against referee

0

Lionel Messi could be suspended for Argentina’s semi-final clash against Croatia. The forward was very openly critical of the referee following the quarter final game against the Netherlands

Although Argentina were able to win the penalty shootout, the referee did not have much control over the game. The two teams were very aggressive against one another, and brawls broke out throughout the game.

Lionel Messi could miss semi-final against Croatia

“I don’t want to talk about referees because then they will sanction you, but we were scared before the game because we knew what was coming [with Mateu Lahoz]. I can’t say what I think, but FIFA have to look at this. [FIFA] cannot put a referee like that on this game when he is not up to the level,” said Messi.

As the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner anticipated, FIFA have opened an investigation against him. And while it is expected that he will be let off with a warning, there is a slim chance that he could be suspended altogether. If that happens, Lionel Messi will have to sit out the match alongside Marcos Acuna and Gonzalo Montiel.

This happened mainly because Lahoz mentioned a confrontation in his match report. And FIFA have to assess whether Messi’s behaviour is breaching the code of conduct. Based on reports, Lahoz has been sent home after the game between Argentina and the Netherlands – and he will play no further part in the tournament.
