Gerard Pique ends career with Barcelona in 2-0 win against Almeria

0

Gerard Pique played his last game for Barcelona against Almeria yesterday, captaining them to a 2-0 win. His decision to retire was made quite abruptly, with the announcement coming through a video posted on social media.

The centre-back had a contract with the club until 2024, but decided to terminate it immediately as he called the curtains on his playing career.

Gerard Pique’s last game ends with a win

“First of all, thanks. To all my colleagues, the staff, the people in the gym, to all those who help us every day to make everything easier. Thanks to the board for all these years. In life, when you get older, you realise that sometimes to love is to let go.”

“A relationship of so much love, of so much passion, I think it was time to leave us space, give us air, and I am convinced that in the future I will be here again. This is not a farewell, I left years ago and then I came back. I was born here and I will die here,” Gerard Pique said after the game.

The La Masia academy graduate played 616 times for his boyhood club, winning every available trophy with them. He has hinted at a return in the form of the club president at some point in the future, as he intends to run for the role.

AMD RDNA 3 Navi 31 GPUs Block Diagram leaks out showing 80% better Ray Tracing

0

The Radeon RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT graphics cards are powered by the world’s first chiplet gaming GPU, according to an alleged AMD RDNA 3 “Navi 31” GPU block diagram that has leaked online. In the gaming GPU market, the AMD RDNA 3 ushers in the chiplet era. With its Ryzen & EPYC CPUs, AMD has led the chiplet revolution.

The Red Team was also the first to release a chiplet GPU under the Instinct series name, but now it’s time for consumers to enjoy some decent chiplet gaming on their new GPUs. In contrast to a typical Monolithic design, AMD claims that the chiplet GPU design offers a revolutionary architectural approach.

A single GCD with 48 WGPs, 96 Compute Units with 6 Shader Engines, and 8 dual compute units per Shader Engine are all features of the AMD Navi 31 GPU with RDNA 3 architecture. There will be a total of 12,288 stream processors distributed as a result. This represents a 2.4x increase in cores above the 5120 SPs found in the Navi 21 GPU.

AMD uses a dual-issue SIMD unit design that doubles the rate at which instructions are sent, enabling it to perform FP, INT, and AI operations. Additionally, the GPU includes two AI accelerators per CU that increase performance by 2.7x. Additionally, BF16 is supported.

According to reports, the Navi 31 GCD, or GPU, will be packaged on TSMC’s 5nm production node and size 300mm2. The top die of AMD’s newest RDNA 3 GPU, which has 58 billion transistors overall and a maximum compute performance of 61 TFLOPs, can support. The 7nm RDNA 2 “Navi 21” GPU has 165% less transistors per mm2 than the Navi 31 GPU, according to AMD. According to the corporation, it improved performance per watt by 45% from generation to generation, exceeding its objective of 50% improvement.

Regarding the cache system, AMD’s RDNA 3 “Navi 31” GPU includes a total of four separate cache hierarchies.

The Infinity Cache LLC, which consists of 96 MB in 6 MCD pools and is interconnected by a 5.2 TB/s Infinity Fabric link, comes first. There are six megabytes (MB) of L2 cache, three megabytes (MB) of L1 cache, and two megabytes (MB) of L0 cache. The AD102 L3 cache is completely matched by the 96 MB Infinity Cache. According to AMD, the GPU’s effective bandwidth is 3.5 TB/s. Accordingly, the GDDR6 interface accounts for the remaining 960 GB/s of the Infinity Cache’s 2.5 TB/s ratings.

With a bigger RT accelerator that provides 50% more performance per CU, AMD’s second-generation ray tracing solution is more powerful. A few of the improvements include new ray box sorting and traversal, dedicated instructions, and 50% more rays in flight. AMD anticipates ray tracing speed improvements of up to 80% with the use of larger caches (helping with Complex RT workloads) (at 2.5 GHz).

AMD emphasises the utilisation of MDIA (Multi-Draw Indirect Accelerator), a 12 Primitive/CLK (50% boost), and double the hardware Prim/Vert Cull Rates while discussing the Geometry and Pixel pipelines. AMD boasts 192 Pixels/Clk, Random Order Opaque outputs, 6 Prims Rasterized/Clk (50% increase), and Pixel Wait Sync in Pixel. The rest of the information is largely what we already knew before the unveiling.

What will it take for East Bengal to return to their past glory?

East Bengal once reigned supreme in the I-League, but their transition to the ISL has been anything but representative of their history. The increasing level of competition with turbulence behind the scenes has prevented the team from hitting the heights they once reached.

In their most recent game, East Bengal were defeated 1-0 by Chennaiyin FC at the Salt Lake Stadium, restricting them to only one win from the last five games this season.

What do East Bengal need to do to become a top team again?

As shown in both games, there are periods of good form that the team has shown. However, their end product in attack leaves much to be desired with Cleiton Silva often left isolated in the final third.

The recruitment of new midfielders to play alongside Jordan O’Doherty and Charis Kariyakou to provide some stability should be a priority. Stephen Constantine also needs to work on making the team more imposing, especially since they play on the counter.

Time, however, is the most important factor here. With players and head coaches being changed every season, it can be difficult to build a solid foundation for the team. A proven manager in Constantine is the right man to lead the club forward, but he must be given time and resources needed to build the team.

Aston Villa 3-1 Manchester United: Unai Emery era starts with a major win

0

Unai Emery’s first game back in the Premier League saw Aston Villa defeat Manchester United 3-1. While the visitors went into the game as the favourites, the solid start from the home team helped them earn all three points.

With the win, they have moved into 13th place while Manchester United remain fifth in the table. Their next meeting will take place in their very next game, this Friday in the EFL Cup.

Aston Villa shock Manchester United to start new era

Leon Bailey opened the scoring for the home team, finishing from a tight angle after being played in by Jacob Ramsey. And in the 11th minute, Lucas Digne scored his first goal for Aston Villa in the form of a perfectly placed free-kick to double their lead early in the game.

The only goal for Manchester United came in the form of an own goal. A shot taken by Luke Shaw took a massive deflection off of Jacob Ramsey, and ended up in the back of the net with Emi Martinez being able to do nothing about it.

Ramsey would make up for it later with a well placed goal, ending up in the top corner, to make it 3-1 in their favour.

Royal Enfield 650cc official teaser released

Royal Enfield has registered the Constellation word mark in February of this year. The most recent teaser shows a partial image of a new bike beneath a starry sky, which alluded to the Constellation nameplate. Words like “astral,” “celestial,” and “interstellar” are used, which supports this theory even more. Although the term Super Meteor is also hinted at in these teaser phrases.

Several 650cc motorcycles, including a cruiser, a 650cc Classic, a 650cc bobber, and a 650cc scrambler, have been tested by Royal Enfield. It was previously believed that the first of the new 650cc bikes may be the Super Meteor 650, but more recently, a faired 650cc bike was sighted, which could be introduced as the Conti GT 650R. The Constellation name, nevertheless, now appears more likely.

The iconic classic appearance of the previous 650cc Royal Enfield Constellation will be carried over. The bike commands a lot of attention on the street, as seen in spy photos. The curved fuel tank, new 3D badging and graphics, offset instrument cluster, twin exhaust, broad rear fender, round tail lamp, and rounded headlight are just a few of the features.

The bike will undoubtedly be heavy, which should enable it to plough across open roads with ease. With a handlebar that is positioned ergonomically and foot pegs that are situated in the middle, it seems appropriate for lengthy rides. The scooped rider seat area of the bike should offer sufficient lumbar support. Additionally, it aids in lowering centre of gravity, resulting in better handling and control.

Although Royal Enfield motorcycles are not particularly technologically advanced, Constellation may open up some new possibilities. It is possible to make tripper navigation an optional feature or make it a standard function. Constellation may or may not gain a specialised Bluetooth-based connectivity platform.

The Continental GT and Interceptor’s 648cc parallel-twin engine will power the Royal Enfield Constellation.

The statistics for engine performance could be changed to fit Constellation’s profile. The twins’ engine produces 52 Nm of maximum torque at 5,250 rpm and 47 bhp of maximum power at 7,150 rpm. It is coupled to a 6-speed constant mesh transmission.

Constellation might receive USD forks at the front. While braking quickly, control and handling will be improved. The motorcycle will have two shock absorbers at the back. Wide rear tyres on test mule bikes have been noticed, which also improves the bike’s cruising ability. The front and rear wheels on Constellation are anticipated to be 19 inches and 17 inches, respectively. It will have dual-channel ABS integrated disc brakes at both ends.

The Royal Enfield Constellation could go on sale for between Rs 3.5 lakh and Rs 3 lakh. It will compete with bikes like the new Yezdi 650cc bike and the Kawasaki Vulcan S. It will compete with brands like BSA Gold Star 650 in foreign areas like the UK.

Chelsea 0-1 Arsenal: Gunners defeat toothless Blues at Stamford Bridge

0

Arsenal returned to the top of the Premier League table with a 1-0 win against London rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. It was a very lacklustre performance from the home team, who only managed to register one shot on target throughout the game.

Although Arsenal themselves had two efforts on target during the entire game, they were much more threatening while in possession, as well as without the ball.

Chelsea humbled by Arsenal for second straight week in the Premier League

The Blues have failed to turn up against Arsenal in almost every fixture for the past few years. And the same pattern repeated itself today, with Mikel Arteta’s side claiming the win.

The only goal of the game was scored by Gabriel Magalhaes, who turned in a corner from Bukayo Saka which evaded everyone.

Last week, Chelsea were humbled by Brighton, while this week they have been defeated by their London rivals who are at their free-flowing best. Moreover, they are the favourites to win the Premier League title this season if they keep up their current form.

The flat display from the West Londoners sees them drop to seventh in the table, behind Brighton, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United. Arsenal, on the other hand, are two points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table.

Twitter launches its USD7.99 a month plan for Blue Check

0

Only a few days after Elon Musk, the newly appointed CEO of Twitter, floated changes to the company’s system for verifying user accounts, including the possibility of charging $8 per month for the privilege, it appears that Twitter has started rolling out a new tier of Twitter Blue, its premium subscription service, which reflects some of Musk’s suggestions.

The updated Twitter Blue will add the blue verification checkmark that was previously reserved for accounts that applied through Twitter’s free verification process, according to an in-app iOS notification spotted by TechCrunch. The upgraded Twitter Blue will start at $7.99 per month. Other advantages promised as “coming soon” include the capacity to post longer videos to Twitter, “half the ads” visible by non-paying Twitter users, and what appears to be “twice as relevant” adverts (Blue previously deleted ads entirely).

By the way, it’s unclear just how long the videos can be. The verbiage describing the new Twitter Blue is vague. Musk, however, stated in a tweet this afternoon that the technical restriction for 1080p video is currently 42 minutes, but he anticipates that this month’s limit will be increased.

What’s not clear is whether users who are already verified on Twitter would lose that status if they don’t pay the $7.99 monthly fee. Although The Verge reported that Twitter was considering removing verification badges from accounts that don’t pay for Twitter Blue within 90 days of the new plan’s launch, the notification’s language makes it seem like this won’t be the case.

In any event, priority ranking for “quality content” will be offered by the updated, more expensive Twitter Blue, which also promises to increase Blue customers’ exposure in replies, mentions, and search. The first tab of the Twitter app’s updated notifications screen by default shows tweets from verified accounts. It will take time to determine whether Twitter’s assertion that this will “lower the visibility of frauds, spam, and bots” is accurate.

Musk had previously stated that Twitter, which recently discontinued support for the ad-free content provided under Blue, will develop a new programme for publishers eager to cooperate with the firm to get around paywalls. The programme doesn’t seem to have made it into the new Blue, at least not at launch, if Musk plans to carry out the suggestion.

The new Twitter Blue, which is initially only available on iOS in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, comes after mass layoffs at Twitter that affected about half of the company’s workforce, including personnel on crucial human rights, accessibility, AI ethics, and curation teams. Twitter faces an estimated $1 billion in interest payments annually on its $13 billion in debt, according to Musk, who also argues that the firm must make the cuts in addition to introducing new paid features in order to become profitable.
