Intel Raptor Lake Core i9-13900KS becomes the first CPU to touch 9 GHz Frequency

0

After more than a decade, Intel’s Core i9-13900KS has been the world’s first CPU to break beyond the 9 GHz Frequency barrier. It was just a few months ago that Intel surpassed AMD’s previously held frequency world record of 8.79 GHz with its Core i9-13900K Raptor Lake CPU, and now the impending Core i9-13900KS has broken another record, becoming the first on the planet to achieve a 9 GHz frequency.

The Intel Core i9-13900KS already has an astounding clock speed, running at up to 6 GHz out of the box.

However, as expected, enthusiasts and hardcore overclockers, who are the chip’s primary target audience, have demonstrated the chip’s genuine overclocking potential. Using LN2 cooling, ASUS’s in-house and known overclocker, Elmor, was able to achieve a clock frequency of up to 9008.82 MHz or 9 GHz using the Intel Core i9-13900KS CPU.

The motherboard used to set this record was the ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 APEX, which is also one of the greatest RAM overclocking motherboards on the market right now. SkatterBencher and Elmor celebrate the 9 GHz OC on the Core i9-13900KS CPU in a live demonstration. Sub-zero temperatures of -250.2C were achieved during the overclocking session.

The flagship Raptor Lake CPU will be the Intel Core i9-13900KS, which will have 24 cores and 32 threads in an 8 P-Core and 16 E-Core configuration. The 13900KS CPU has a ‘Thermal Velocity Boost’ frequency of up to 6 GHz, making it the first chip to do so out of the box. The CPU has a ‘Turbo Boost Max’ frequency of up to 5.8 GHz, while the P-Cores have a regular turbo frequency of up to 5.4 GHz and the E-Cores have a turbo frequency of up to 4.3 GHz.

The CPU will have 68 MB of combined cache and a 150W PL1 rating that may be increased to 253W or even higher using the extreme power profile options. The Core i9-13900KS, on the other hand, will cost a premium of $100 to $200 US over the Core i9-13900K while consuming significantly more power.

However, because of this, the chip will have a limited production run and will not be available in the same quantities as ordinary Core i9-13900K CPUs. The CPU is set to be released on January 12th of next year.

The Recruit Season 2: All the Latest Updates We Need to Know about the New Political Drama Show

Netflix’s latest political crime thriller The Recruit Season 2 has got a huge response from the audience. The show has become popular across the world. Now, the film has set to renew for the second season  The new series has featured Noah Centineo, and the new series sees him playing the role of Owen Hendricks, a lawyer who is thrust into a conspiracy plot involving the CIA.

The Recruit Season 2: Renewal Status

This is just the first weekend, it’s a little too early to know whether the show will return for The Recruit Season 2 or not.  As you may know, Netflix doesn’t publicly announce the criteria by which its series get renewed or cancelled, but there’s plenty of evidence out there on what metrics help renewal choices.

Recruit

If you’re enjoying the show and want to get it renewed, the best chances of that happening are by you watching all the way to the end and then encouraging others to do the same.

Has any of the cast or crew talked about The Recruit Season 2 thus far? Alexi Crawley has implied that conversations have taken place or at least, a blueprint is there. All eight episodes touched down on Netflix on December 16th, 2022.

Hawley talked about his attitude going into season 1, by telling:

“I know things about where I would want to take it, and where I’d want to go with it. I mean obviously, you hope for success, but as you could see with that ending, I didn’t plan for failure because I feel like in this day and age you just have to be bold, you have to be dramatic, to the expense of everything else. And you can’t worry about Season 2’s, or Season 3’s, or beyond. You have to go, “What’s the best version of this story right now?” And trust that people will come to it. And then you’ll get another shot at it.”

The Recruit: Review

Let’s break down the review scores for the show thus far :

  • IMDb User Score: 7.6
  • RottenTomatoes Critics Score: 75%
  • RottenTomatoes Audience Score: 87%
  • Metacritic: 60/100

It’s fair to say that reviews for The Recruit have surpassed expectations (at least that I had personally) in that it’s attracting the same kind of audience that made Crawley’s network shows popular.

The Recruit: Netflix Performance

We don’t have too much data on The Recruit just yet but we’ll be looking at several sources for how well the show is getting on. This section will be updated a lot over the next few weeks.

Netflix has yet to release any official viewing hour stats for the show yet. Its first opportunity to release numbers will be on December 20th, 2022.

FlixPatrol data, which gives the daily raw Netflix Top 10s, suggests the show has not been able to topple Wednesday from the top spot yet but is the second biggest show on Netflix in its opening weekend. The Data so far reveals that the series is performing best in Brazil, the United States, Canada, and some parts of Europe.

According to TelevisionStats.com, the show had a huge rise after its addition to Netflix, coming from nowhere in the runup to its release. Thus far, the show has peaked as the fourth biggest show in the world, according to their data. They pull data from external sources such as Twitter, Wikipedia, Google, and Reddit.

The Recruit Season 2: Expectations

In episode 8, titled W.T.F.I.O.H., the mission to get Max home to Russia continues, and just as things seem to be coming to a close, complications arise. It also saw the clashing of Owen’s personal and professional life.

Season 1 concludes with a big twist; Karolina shoots Max but is she dead? That will undoubtedly be the cornerstone question that gets answered in season 2.

The ending then sees Owen reaching out to Hannah to meet up abroad which concludes the series.

The RadioTimes explains that we’ll see the return of Noah Centineo in a second season as well as Aarti Mann, Colton Dunn, and Fivel Stewart. They also predict the same as us in the sense that “Owen Hendricks would be thrown into another high-stakes mission, although this time he could be somewhat more prepared for the experience.”

AMD RDNA4 Architectures Leaks Online

0

The AMD RDNA4 architecture and the future Navi 41, Navi 42, and Navi 43 GPUs have been extensively covered by RedGamingTech. This is one of the first leaks from a known leaker, and while RGT has a track record of reliability, this article is still being treated as a rumour at this time because the information this early is often in flux and subject to change. So, salt shakers at the ready, let’s dive into this incredible delight of a leak from RGT.

The first item of business is that RGT confirms that the ALU count for RDNA4 CUs will stay exactly the same as RDNA 3 – that is, 128 ALUs per CU. GDDR7 memory is undoubtedly in play but has yet to be confirmed, and PCI-E 5.0 is extremely likely to be the standard of choice over PCI-E 6.0 because the latter will most likely not be ready in time.

AMD
credit: RGT

Interestingly, the RDNA4 architecture will seek a raised 3.5 GHz clock frequency, which when paired with the other architectural changes represents a net performance per watt gain of roughly 50-60%.

One of the shortcomings of AMD’s RDNA3 architecture was the lack of ray tracing and AI/ML performance, which AMD hopes to address in RDNA4. Caches will be significantly upgraded, with the introduction of the 3rd Generation Infinity Cache and a new data prefetch architecture.

WMMA (Wave Matrix Multiply-Accumulate) V2 will also allow for two times the speed per CU for (supposedly) matrix instructions, allowing for full SIMD lane use. Despite the fact that the total increase in CUs is roughly 50%, the performance gain from generation to generation is 100%, which is fantastic to hear.

AMD Navi 41 – 144 CUs

However, the Navi 41 is said to have up to 32 GB of VRAM, most likely of the GDDR7 sort. A second version with 24 or 48 GB of GDDR7 and 6 MCDs is also available (the 32 GB variant has 4 MCDs). The Navi 41 will contain 144 CUs, which when clocked at 3.5 GHz and divided by 128 ALU per CU should result in a whopping 129 TFLOPs of FP32 performance. That is, without a doubt, a Godzilla level of performance.

AMD Navi 42 – 96 CUs

AMD
credit: wccftech

Navi 42 will be slightly muted, with a total of 12,288 CUs clocked at 3.5 GHz, yielding about 86 TFLOPs of FP32 performance. 96 CU is also the exact count of the RDNA3 flagship, the Radeon 7900 XTX, hence this SKU will represent the generation-over-generation comparison between RDNA3 and RDNA4 (or more accurately, as apples to apples its ever going to get). Specifications like this can and do change before the final edition, as RGT acknowledges in their slides.

AMD Navi 43 – 48 CUs

Finally, there will be the Navi 43, which will have 48 CUs. This will produce roughly 43 TFLOPs of FP32 performance when clocked at around 3.5 GHz. This is most likely the lower end of AMD’s RDNA4 portfolio, and it only goes to show how much performance is packed into this new RDNA4 design, where the “lower end” easily exceeds 40 TFLOPs. The memory standard will remain GDDR7, and it will include two MCDs. This is also the only SKU where RGT mentions that the GPU may not be of an MCM design, despite being promised that it is.

Apple iPhone SE 4 probably going to be scrapped

0

Apple‘s Pro and Pro Plus versions of iPhones have been the most popular models for the past few years, and the company’s numerous trials with the mid- to low-end models haven’t been successful.

Now, according to the most recent rumour from Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is anticipated to cancel the next Apple iPhone SE 4 smartphone or postpone the mass production of the gadget for 2024 due to lower-than-expected demand.

The full-screen design of the iPhone SE 4 has increasing material costs, which would also drive up the price of the smartphone on the market, is cited as another reason for the device’s cancellation.

iPhone SE 4

At a time when a worldwide recession is on the horizon, this can also help the business cut costs associated with developing new products, and anything Apple can save could benefit the brand.

The company’s objectives for sales are not being met by merely the iPhone SE variants. In contrast to expectations, the market demand for the Apple iPhone 13 Mini and the iPhone 14 Plus, which served as its successor for the new lineup, was incredibly low. Due to increased demand, the Cupertino-based tech giant had to increase manufacturing of the Pro models while decreasing the production of the 14 Plus model.

The news comes at a time when rumours and leaks have provided a fairly accurate description of what to anticipate from the iPhone SE 4 smartphone. A 6.1-inch 720p LCD display of the iPhone XR and a 3,000mAh battery with support for 20W fast charging and 7.5W wireless charging are among the specifications of the rumoured “flagship killer” smartphone. It may also be IP67-rated.

iPhone SE 4

Internally, the gadget is anticipated to be powered by the most recent Apple A16 Bionic chipset, which is also featured in the recently released Apple iPhone 14 Pro series, but it may instead use the A15 SoC seen in the iPhone 14 lineup.

There might be a single 12-megapixel sensor on the back and a 7-megapixel selfie camera at the front.

Although it has not yet been officially confirmed, we anticipate finding out more information about the iPhone SE 4 in the coming days from various sources. Until we have confirmation on this from other sources as well, we encourage you to treat this with a grain of salt.

AMD Ryzen 7000 Non-X CPU Benchmark Leaks Online

0

Benchmarks for all three AMD Ryzen 7000 Non-X 65W Desktop CPUs, including the Ryzen 9 7900, Ryzen 7 7700, and Ryzen 5 7600, have surfaced. The AMD Ryzen 7000 Non-X Desktop CPU family will include three processors: the Ryzen 9 7900, the Ryzen 7 7700, and the Ryzen 5 7600. These CPUs are set to be released on January 10th.

AMD Ryzen 9 7900 – 12 Zen 4 Cores For Just $429 US

AMD
credit: wccftech

The AMD Ryzen 9 7900 processor will have 12 cores, 24 threads, 76 MB of cache (64 MB L3 + 12 MB L3), and a maximum clock speed of 5.4 GHz. The CPU will cost $429 USD, which is $120 USD more than the Ryzen 9 7900X. While the base clock remains unknown, the boost clock has been reduced by 200 MHz, but given the price point, this 12-core processor looks great, and I can already see a lot of people upgrading to this sub-$500 US 12-Core Zen 4 chip. AMD will place the processor alongside the Intel Core i9-13900 and Core i9-12900 CPUs.

AMD

AMD Ryzen 7 7700 – 8 Core Gaming Champ Under $350 US

The Ryzen 7 7700 comes next, with 8 cores, 16 threads, 40 MB of cache (32 MB L3 + 8 MB L3), and a maximum clock speed of up to 5.3 GHz. The CPU will cost $329 USD, which is $70 USD less than the Ryzen 7 7700X, which costs $399 USD.

AMD
credit: wccftech

Given its 65W power budget, the Ryzen 7 7700 appears to be clocked just 100 MHz lower than the Ryzen 7 7700X. Given the 1.375x multiplier for the PPT, the total TDP should be approximately 90-100W. The Ryzen 7 7700 will compete with the Core i7-13700 and Core i7-12700 processors.

AMD
credit: wccftech

AMD Ryzen 5 7600 – Making AM5 Affordable For Entry-Level Builders

Finally, the AMD Ryzen 5 7600 will have 6 cores, 12 threads, 38 MB of cache (32 MB L3 + 6 MB L2), and a maximum clock speed of up to 5.1 GHz. The CPU will cost $229 USD, which is $70 USD less than the Ryzen 5 7600X, which costs $299 USD. The boost clock of the ‘X’ chip is 200 MHz slower. The Ryzen 5 7600 will compete with the Core i5-13600 and Core i5-12600 CPUs.

AMD
credit: wccftech

At stock, the AMD Ryzen 9 7900 CPU scores 2121 points in single-core tests and 18607 points in multi-core tests, but overclocked results show a 5% performance gain, closing the gap with the Ryzen 9 7900X. In the Geekbench 5 benchmark, the CPU performs similarly to Intel’s Core i9-12900KS.

The AMD Ryzen 7 7700 scores 2062 points in single-core tests and 12685 points in multi-core tests. Overclocking results in a minor gain in single-core performance but a 5% improvement in multi-threaded performance. Finally, the Ryzen 5 7600 scores 2012 in single-core tests and up to 11326 points in multi-core testing.

According to the performance figures, the AMD Ryzen 9 7900 outperforms the Ryzen 9 7900X by 97%, the Ryzen 7 7700 outperforms the Ryzen 7 7700X by 92%, and the Ryzen 5 7600 outperforms the Ryzen 5 7600X by 98%. This is a really remarkable demonstration, and the leak also shows that these chips support overclocking, making them a significantly better bargain that should also consume little power and give improved efficiency at stock operation.

Overall, the chips appear to give the best performance per dollar value on the AM5 platform, and we may see cheaper A620 motherboards by the middle of 2023. AMD Ryzen 7000X3D 3D V-Cache CPUs will also be unveiled at CES 2023. The Non-X processors will be available in stores on January 10th.

Intel Core i5-13400F Raptor Lake CPU appears for $216 at a US Retail shop listing

0

ShopBLT, a US store, has advertised Intel’s Core i5-13400F, which is expected to become a popular budget CPU, for a tentative price of $216 US. The Intel Core i5-13400 will be available in both normal and ‘F’ variants, the latter of which lacks integrated graphics. The Core i5-13400F will be the best value for gamers, but if these early numbers are to be trusted, we may see a little price increase compared to last-gen.

The Intel Core i5-13400 CPU has six P-cores and four E-cores, for a total of ten cores and sixteen threads. The basic clock speed of the CPU is 2.5 GHz, with a boost clock speed of 4.1 GHz across all cores and 4.6 GHz on a single core. The CPU has 28 MB of L3 cache and a PL1 TDP of 65W and a PL2 TDP of roughly 120W. Given its performance boost and roughly $200 US price, the CPU should be a big seller in the budget market, where Intel’s 12th Gen series already dominates.

The new Intel Gen Core i5-13400 CPU series is predicted to give significantly greater performance than the Core i5-12400 CPUs due to increased core count and clock speeds while consuming somewhat more power.

The Core i5-13400 is priced at $243.68 on ShopBLT, while the Core i5-13400F is priced at $216.16. Both older models are currently $170.23 and $196.81 more expensive than the previous generation. The next-generation Intel processor series is over 27% more expensive than the Alder Lake variants, although this makes sense given that the core count is predicted to be larger (from six cores to ten). According to Cinebench leaks last week, the new Raptor Lake chips are predicted to perform up to 30% quicker in multi-core circumstances than Alder Lake.

Intel
credit: wccftech

It is expected that Intel will reveal the next 13th Generation Core processors at CES 2023, along with up to six more chip sets from the new series. All of the new CPUs will have the lowest base power consumption in the new Raptor Lake category, at 65W.

The new B760 motherboards are also likely to be compatible with Intel’s upcoming 13th Generation “Raptor Lake” processors. This is wonderful news for Intel because those motherboards support not only the new DDR5, but also DDR4 memory, which AMD failed to support with their new Ryzen 7000 CPUs, which are also slated to debut at next year’s CES 2023, which will be held in Las Vegas from January 3 to January 6, 2023.
