Why Rookidee Community Day Matters

Rookidee won this year’s Community Day vote in Pokémon GO, making it a trainer-chosen favorite. This Galar region native brings serious potential to your Pokemon collection, especially when evolved into the mighty Corviknight with its exclusive move.

Shiny Hunting Made Easy

The chance of finding a Shiny Rookidee during Pokemon GO August 2025 Community Day are 1-in-25 or 4% – significantly higher than the usual shiny rates! Rookidee recently debuted its Shiny variant, so during the Community Day, and – as with every other headliner – it will have boosted Shiny odds for the duration of this event.

Air Cutter: The Game-Changing Move

Evolving Corvisquire during the event will result in Corviknight knowing the exclusive charge attack Air Cutter. In order to obtain Air Cutter, Trainers had to evolve Corvisquire into Corviknight after the start of the event and until May 18th, 10:00 a.m. local time. This exclusive move transforms Corviknight into a formidable battler worth adding to your competitive roster.

Pro Tip: Stock up on Rookidee candy during the event – you’ll need 125 total candies to fully evolve one Rookidee into Corviknight!

Special Bonuses & Research

Trainers that log in during August Community Day will receive Timed Research awarding an encounter with a Rookidee that has a Delightful Days–themed Special Background. This adds a unique collectible element to your Pokemon storage that commemorates the event.

The Community Day also features:

Increased spawns of Rookidee in the wild
Special photo opportunities with AR snapshots
Enhanced catch rates for easier collection
Bonus XP and Stardust (typical Community Day bonuses)

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I still get Air Cutter after Community Day ends?

A: Trainers who evolve Corvisquire (Rookidee’s Evolution) during the event or up until Saturday, September 6 at 10:00 p.m. local time can still obtain the exclusive move. You have a week-long grace period!

Q: Is Shiny Rookidee available outside of Community Day?

A: Yes, but at much lower odds. Shiny form of Rookidee was released at the start of Ultra Unlock: Steel and Scales on July 22nd, 2025, so it’s permanently available but extremely rare without the Community Day boost.
