At today’s Xbox Showcase in Los Angeles, Blizzard Entertainment delighted fans by announcing two major upcoming releases. “World of Warcraft: The War Within” will launch globally on August 27, and the highly anticipated first expansion for Diablo IV, “Vessel of Hatred,” will follow on October 8.

Exciting News from Blizzard Entertainment

“It’s so exciting to be here alongside other amazing developers at Xbox Showcase to reveal our release dates for World of Warcraft: The War Within, and Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred,” said Johanna Faries, President of Blizzard Entertainment. “These releases are kicking off what is to be an exciting next few months, which will include World of Warcraft’s 20th anniversary – we will share more later in the year.”

Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred

After its explosive debut in 2023, Diablo IV is set to expand with its first major expansion, “Vessel of Hatred,” on October 8. The opening cinematic, which premiered at the Xbox Showcase, has already stirred excitement among fans. You can watch it here. Pre-purchases are available now, offering immediate access to exclusive in-game cosmetic rewards.

What to Expect in Vessel of Hatred

  • New Class: Spiritborn – Introducing the Spiritborn, a new class ranked among the apex predators of the jungle. With mystical synergies awakened deep within the jungles of Nahantu, Spiritborn warriors connect with ethereal spirits to unleash devastating powers.
  • New Region: Nahantu – Explore the lush, dangerous jungle region of Nahantu, filled with secrets, deadly dungeons, strongholds, and fierce demons from warring tribes.
  • Continue the Campaign – Vessel of Hatred picks up immediately after the events of Diablo IV. Players will fight to save Neyrelle from Mephisto’s grip, navigating through ancient jungles while unravelling Mephisto’s dark plot.
  • New Game Updates – The expansion brings massive updates, including new class skills, paragon boards, legendary glyphs, dungeon types, and Tree of Whispers activities. Players can also recruit new mercenaries with unique abilities to assist in combat and tackle a new co-op PvE mode with friends.

Digital Pre-Purchase Editions & Bonuses

“Vessel of Hatred” is available for digital pre-purchase in three editions:

  • Standard Edition: Includes Alkor the Snow Leopard Pet and a Mother’s Lament Legendary Gem in Diablo Immortal.
  • Deluxe Edition: Includes everything in the Standard Edition, plus Hratli the Canine Pet, the Nahantu War-cat Mount, and a Premium Seasonal Battle Pass Unlock in Diablo IV.
  • Ultimate Edition: Includes everything in the Deluxe Edition, plus the Nahantu Unearthed Armor bundle, Natalya the Tiger Pet, 3,000 platinum, the Wings of the Faith Cosmetic, and a Nahantu-themed town portal.

Diablo IV and “Vessel of Hatred” feature cross-platform play and cross-progression on Windows® PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, and Steam. They support up to four-player co-op, including two-player couch co-op on consoles.
