Best Phones Under Rs 15,000 in India (2026): 5 Budget Picks That Actually Earn Their Price Tag

The sub-Rs 15,000 shelf looks nothing like it did a year ago. Rising memory prices have pushed even basic 4G phones past Rs 10,000 — but a wave of newer, India-first brands has stepped into that exact gap. The upside for buyers: 5G, 120Hz screens, 6,000mAh batteries, and 50MP+ cameras are now available at prices that used to buy a bare-bones handset.

No single phone here nails everything — one wins on power, another on cameras, another on software. Here’s the quick verdict, followed by the details.

Best Phones Under Rs 15,000 in India: Overview

1. boltt Ace 5G — Best for Performance

The Ace 5G leads the pack on raw power. Its UNISOC T8200 chip pushes past 5,47,000 on AnTuTu, translating to snappy app launches and stutter-free multitasking. A 6.79-inch 120Hz HD+ display stays readable outdoors, while a 64MP AI main camera, NFC, expandable storage up to 1TB, and an included 18W charger round out a genuinely complete package. The catch: resolution tops out at HD+, and the top variant nudges past Rs 15,000.

Best for: Anyone chasing the fastest phone under Rs 15,000.

2. boltt Evo — Best Value Under Rs 12,000

The Evo trims the price without cutting the screen or battery. It keeps the same 6.79-inch 120Hz panel and 6000mAh cell as the Ace, paired with a lighter UNISOC T7250 chip and a 50MP main camera. It skips 5G, so heavy gamers or long-term upgraders should look elsewhere, but for everyday use it’s hard to match at this price.

Best for: Budget-conscious buyers who still want a big, smooth screen.

3. Ai+ Pulse 2 4G — Best First Smartphone

Built for simplicity, the Pulse 2 4G runs Android 16-based NxtQuantum OS — described as India’s first sovereign mobile operating system — on a Unisoc T7250 chip. Its 50MP rear camera punches well above its price class, and the 6000mAh battery easily covers a full day. Available in five colours, it’s an easy pick for a parent, student, or first-time smartphone owner. The trade-off is no 5G support.

Best for: First-time buyers who want something dependable and simple.

4. Infinix Smart 20 4G — Best-Looking Budget Phone

This one’s about design. A flat frame, 7.7mm slim body, and a large camera module give it a look well above its price tag, and it even carries an IP rating for dust and splash resistance — rare at this level. The MediaTek Helio G81 Ultimate chip handles daily tasks fine, though its 8MP camera is the weakest in this lineup, and the 5200mAh battery is smaller than its rivals’.

Best for: Buyers who want a phone that looks and feels premium.

5. HMD Vibe 2 5G — Best for Clean Software

If bloatware is your pet peeve, the Vibe 2 5G delivers a near-stock Android 16 experience with no theme stores or junk apps. Hardware is solidly mid-pack — a Unisoc T8200 chip with 5G, a 6.7-inch 120Hz display, and a 50MP+8MP dual rear camera — but the real appeal is the tidy software and two years of promised security updates.

Best for: Buyers who want the least cluttered Android experience around.

Which One Should You Buy?

• Fastest phone: boltt Ace 5G — nothing else here matches it on performance, and you still get 5G and NFC.
• Tightest budget: boltt Evo — the same big screen and battery as the Ace, for less.
• First phone ever: Ai+ Pulse 2 4G — simple, affordable, surprisingly good camera.
• Looks matter most: Infinix Smart 20 4G — premium design at a budget price.
• Zero bloatware: HMD Vibe 2 5G — clean software plus 5G.

If you plan on keeping your phone for more than two years, lean toward a 5G model — the small extra spend now can save you an earlier upgrade later. For more phone comparisons, launch coverage, and tech breakdowns like this one, check out TechnoSports.
