If you thought the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) couldn’t get any more exciting, think again. Director-producer Lokesh Kanagaraj has just dropped a brand new first look, and with it, a major casting announcement — Ravi Mohan is officially the newest addition to Benz, the fourth installment of the LCU. Lokesh himself broke the news on X (formerly Twitter), posting first look stills and behind-the-scenes photos, with the message: “Welcome to the universe @iam_RaviMohan sir.”

The internet, predictably, lost its collective mind.

Why Ravi Mohan’s Entry Is a Massive Deal

The Parasakthi actor’s first look is intriguing — seated quietly in a local bus, eyes heavy with something unspoken. It’s a deliberately understated image for a universe that loves its grand reveals, and that contrast alone is doing a lot of talking. Reports suggest Ravi Mohan is playing a positive character with significant long-term importance — one who is reportedly set to carry a meaningful role in future LCU entries including Kaithi 2 and Vikram 2. That’s not a cameo; that’s architecture.

This announcement solidifies Benz as the most stacked LCU film in terms of cast depth. Raghava Lawrence brings the mass hero energy, Nivin Pauly as the villain is a casting choice that still feels fresh and unexpected, and now Ravi Mohan adds a layer of understated gravitas that the universe hasn’t quite seen before. The LCU’s ambition to build something comparable to a Marvel-style connected universe — as detailed in Wikipedia’s overview of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe — is looking more real with every announcement.

The LCU Keeps Expanding — And Fans Can’t Get Enough

What Lokesh Kanagaraj has built is remarkable. He’s not just making hit films — he’s constructing a mythology, universe by universe, character by character. Benz arrives as the fourth chapter of a franchise that began with the quietly brilliant Kaithi in 2019, exploded with Vikram in 2022, and kept the momentum alive with Leo in 2023. Each film has brought in new faces while deepening existing threads, and Benz looks set to do the same — only at a grander scale than before.

With Bakkiyaraj Kannan in the director’s chair and Lokesh himself shaping the story, this one is being watched very, very closely.
