BenQ, a manufacturer of display and projection technology, has announced the launch of the RD270Q, the latest addition to its RD Series of programming monitors. Developed with the Indian software engineering community in mind, the 27-inch display is intended to address specific productivity and ergonomic requirements of developers in the region.

The introduction of the RD270Q comes as India’s technology sector continues to expand, with a growing demand for specialized hardware to support extended coding sessions and complex development workflows. BenQ states that the RD Series was conceived to cater directly to these evolving needs.

The RD270Q features a 27-inch IPS 2K Reflection-Free Nano Matte display, certified by TÜV Rheinland for glare reduction and text clarity. It offers a 144Hz refresh rate, aiming to provide smoother scrolling for code and documentation. The monitor also integrates exclusive Coding Modes, including Light, Dark, and a new Paper Color Mode, designed to optimize syntax visibility and minimize eye strain across different viewing environments.

Connectivity options include USB-C with 65W Power Delivery, facilitating single-cable solutions for display and laptop charging. An ergonomic stand provides height adjustment, tilt, swivel, and 90-degree pivot for portrait orientation. The monitor is compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux, and integrates with BenQ Display Pilot 2 for workflow customization and desktop partitioning.

Rajeev Singh, Managing Director of BenQ India & South Asia, commented on the launch, stating, “India represents one of the world’s most vibrant software ecosystems, and developers here deserve technology that’s designed specifically for the way they work.” He added that the company aimed for the RD Series to become “the preferred choice for every coding professional in India.”

Feedback from initial evaluations by software developers in India suggests that features like the Coding Mode and Reflection-Free Nano Matte panel improve readability during long coding sessions. Developers also noted the combination of ergonomic flexibility, USB-C connectivity, and coding-specific features as beneficial.
