Nostalgia sells — and right now, it’s selling out. Avengers: Endgame is back in Indian theatres as Endgame Encore, and fans aren’t just showing up, they’re rushing the box office before the film has even opened. Advance bookings have already touched an estimated ₹8 crore gross (~₹6.50 crore nett) for the opening weekend, with around 200,000 tickets sold — and that’s with only a limited set of shows live so far.
Why This Re-Release Is Such a Big Deal?
When Avengers: Endgame first hit Indian screens in 2019, it became the highest-grossing Hollywood film in the country at the time — a crown later taken by Avatar: The Way of Water and, more recently, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Now, with full inventory expected to go live later today, trade watchers believe the film could cross ₹10 crore nett on day one, which would make it the biggest opening day ever for a re-release in India, surpassing Baahubali: The Epic.

What It Means for Marvel in India?
This isn’t just a nostalgia trip — it’s a pulse check. A strong Encore run would be a huge confidence boost ahead of Avengers: Doomsday, arriving later this year, and proof that Marvel’s grip on Indian audiences is far from fading.
