Apple dominates the Android smartphones shipped list in the first half of 2023

According to the most recent report from analytics company Omdia, over 287 million smartphones were shipped throughout the globe in the first half of 2023 (1H 2023) alone. Apple and Samsung still hold ten of the top ten places and continue to dominate the charts.

Market Domination by the iPhone 14 Series

The iPhone 14 Pro Max took first place with 26.5 million shipments, giving it the top 3 rankings. With 21 million handsets supplied internationally in 1H 2023, the iPhone 14 Pro came in second.

With 16.5 million shipments, the regular iPhone 14 model came in third. The impressive success of the most recent iPhone 14 series demonstrates the enormous popularity of Apple devices in every country.

The iPhone 13 from the prior year came in fourth with 15.5 million unit shipments.

The inexpensive Galaxy A series was the main factor in the bulk of Samsung’s shipments. With 12.4 million units shipped globally in the first half of 2023, the Galaxy A13 placed fifth.

With 9.6 million shipments, Samsung’s top-of-the-line Galaxy S23 Ultra came in sixth place.

The success of Samsung’s approach of catering to clients in all price ranges is evidenced by the company’s performance in the top 10.

The top 10 most shipped smartphones list was completed by the Samsung Galaxy A14 5G (9 million units), Galaxy A54 5G (8.8 million units), Galaxy A34 5G (7.1 million units), and Apple iPhone 11 (6.9 million units).

Despite being a 3-year-old model, the iPhone 11 maintained its position among the top 10, demonstrating Apple’s unrivaled level of devoted patrons.

Apple and Samsung still dominated the worldwide smartphone market in the first half of 2023. Samsung’s cheap A-series and the S23 Ultra did the heavy lifting while Apple relied on its most recent iPhone 14 series. The worldwide smartphone duopoly between Apple and Samsung doesn’t appear to be eroding anytime soon.
