Apple AirPods Pro 3: Exploring Five Anticipated Features as per the Rumors

Apple is actively developing an enhanced iteration of the AirPods Pro, with the anticipated release slated for approximately 2025. A variety of compelling features are rumored for the AirPods Pro 3, and we’ve compiled the key expectations here.

The Upcoming Apple AirPods Pro 3

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has hinted at a redesign for the AirPods Pro 3. While the specifics of the alterations remain undisclosed, both the earbuds and the case are expected to undergo changes to accommodate new functionalities.

Apple traditionally elevates audio quality with each AirPods iteration, and rumors suggest the AirPods Pro 3 will not deviate from this trend. Anticipated improvements encompass not only audio quality but also potential advancements in Active Noise Cancellation. With Apple emphasizing the Vision Pro headset, audio quality is poised to take center stage.

The current AirPods Pro 2 utilises the H2 chip, and the forthcoming AirPods Pro 3 is anticipated to feature an even swifter chip, potentially labelled the H3. The H-series chips are integral to AirPods’ functionality, powering features like Active Noise Cancellation, Hey Siri, fast switching, and Adaptive EQ.

Apple is actively working on incorporating hearing health features into the AirPods lineup. This includes a built-in hearing test, allowing users to assess their hearing capabilities through tones and sounds. The AirPods may even aid in identifying potential hearing issues, prompting users to seek further assistance from healthcare professionals.

Additionally, Apple is exploring features that could enhance hearing, potentially positioning the AirPods Pro as an alternative to traditional hearing aids. Existing features like Conversation Boost, which minimises background noise during a speech, lay the foundation for this health-centric direction.

In a notable development, Apple has experimented with embedding a temperature sensor in the AirPods. If implemented, this feature is likely to debut in the AirPods Pro 3. Ear-based temperature measurements are deemed more accurate than those from the wrist.

Current speculations point towards Apple unveiling the AirPods Pro 3 in 2025. Considering Apple’s historical tendency to synchronize AirPods launches with iPhone events, a potential debut could align with the September 2025 timeframe if the company adheres to its projected timeline. Enthusiasts eagerly await further details and confirmation from Apple as the anticipated release date approaches.
