AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO will be available directly to consumers from March 2021

AMD has taken their game to the next level and has challenged Intel on all fronts and even winning in some areas. Everyone was expecting AMD to launch their highly anticipated processors at CES 2021 and they haven’t disappointed anyone.

Ryzen Threadripper PRO Processors offer an unmatched feature set to workstation customers with up to 64 cores, 8 channels of memory, RDIMM and LRDIMM support, 128 PCIe® Gen 4 lanes, and AMD PRO security technologies.

Now, there’s another good news for those who always wanted to buy an AMD Ryzen Threadripper processor. AMD is going to end their exclusive partnership with Lenovo for the ThinkStation. The AMD Ryzen Threadripper will now be directly available to consumers from March 2021.

The AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro allows users to work with larger datasets due to its expanded memory capacity from 256GB to 2TB. It also allows double the expansion for users who need tons of graphics or networking cards. The memory channels have also been doubled from four to eight along with the PCI-E lanes from 64 to 128.

The pricing of the AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro has not been revealed yet. It will be sold directly through participating retailers, e-tailers, and system integrators. As we head closer to its availability date of March 2021, we will surely get to know in more details.
