More About the AMD Ryzen 9000 Zen 5 Desktop CPU Prices

Azerty had Ryzen 9000 “Zen 5” CPUs listed very briefly a while back, before pulling them again out of fear of an NDA violation over pricing; AMD will release the new chips on July 31. The listed prices included a 21% VAT: the Ryzen 9 9900X was priced at €484.14 (€400 excluding VAT), the Ryzen 7 9700X at €385.33 (€318 excluding VAT), and the Ryzen 5 9600X at €301.37 (€249 excluding VAT). These prices are higher than those of their predecessors, reflecting the heavy discounts currently applied to the Ryzen 7000 series.

For comparison, the Ryzen 9 9900X is priced at €484.14, while the Ryzen 9 7900X is priced at €378. The Ryzen 7 9700X is listed at €385.33, compared to the Ryzen 7 7700X at €298. The Ryzen 5 9600X is priced at €301.37, whereas the Ryzen 5 7600X is listed at €208.

The Ryzen 7 9700X is estimated at $344.70, versus the Ryzen 7 7700X’s $399 MSRP. The Ryzen 5 9600X will cost around $269.91 while the Ryzen 5 7600X is priced at $299 MSRP.

Though discounts now offer better value to the Ryzen 7000 “Zen 4” CPUs, it is expected that the Ryzen 9000 “Zen 5” CPUs are expected to arrive at more competitive prices than their predecessors. Please note these preliminary listings carry the caveat that sale prices can still change – and all but definitely will come launch day.
