AMD’s flagship Ryzen 9 7945HX “Dragon Range” CPU has been tested with Geekbench 5, and the results are quite impressive. The Ryzen 9 7945HX will be AMD’s fastest laptop chip ever. It will be built on the 5nm Zen 4 core architecture and will have 16 cores and 32 threads, just like the Ryzen 9 7950X CPU from the desktop lineup.

These 16 cores will have a base frequency of 2.5 GHz and can boost to 5.4 GHz, which is quite impressive for a mobility part.

The AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX CPU includes 80 MB of cache and a TDP range of 55-75W+.

In terms of performance, the AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX CPU scored 2127 points in single-core and 19,403 points in multi-core on the Geekbench 5 bench. In performance mode, the chip was running on an ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 laptop with 32 GB of DDR5-4800 memory.

The AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX’s single-core performance is comparable to AMD’s high-end Ryzen 7000 Desktop CPUs, while the multi-core score is faster than the Ryzen 9 7900X desktop chip. The desktop chip has fewer cores, but it also has a higher TDP and a higher all-core boost. The first AMD Ryzen 7045 “Dragon Range” laptops are expected to arrive in the coming days.
