AMD Ryzen 5000 CPU prices see up to 25% price cuts following Intel's Alder Lake success

Intel is pushing AMD back with its 12th Gen Alder Lake processors which perform a lot better than AMD’s Ryzen 5000 series offering, however, AMD has no answer as they cancelled Zen 3+ based Rembrandt processors for PC. While it is still confirmed that 5nm based Zen 4 Ryzen 7000 is coming in 2022 itself, there’s a gap of performance between Intel and AMD as of now that is a headache for AMD.

Still, it couldn’t launch the Ryzen 7 5800X3D in the market, nor any higher-end SKUs with this new 3D V-cache stacking has been announced. So, naturally, it is getting beaten out by the likes of Core i7-12700K, Core i9-12900K and others from Intel, now, as it is not planning to launch an entire bunch of SKUs, especially cost-effective ones, AMD is playing the price game.

Yes, they are giving away huge discounts on all of its Ryzen 5000 series CPUs to compensate for what Intel is offering and in some ways this makes sense. However, one has to keep in mind that the AM4 socket’s validity ends with Ryzen 5000 or 5000X3D as next-gen will use an LGA socket and a completely new motherboard would be required.

So, even if you are tempted by the discounts by AMD you would have to keep in mind future upgradability as well. Here are the discounted prices of AMD Ryzen 5000 series processors:
