AMD Advancing AI 2026 — Event At A Glance

Why This Event Is Bigger Than Ever in 2026

Advancing AI is AMD’s annual gathering for the global AI community, bringing developers, customers, and partners together to experience the latest in AI infrastructure, architecture, and development — with free training, free GPU resources, and certification opportunities. AMD

But beyond the learning, this event is AMD’s biggest stage for hardware reveals. At last year’s Advancing AI keynote, AMD unveiled its MI350 series accelerators alongside ROCm 7, and offered the first teaser of its Helios rack — so this year, we fully expect the next generation of families to be officially revealed.

To understand the broader context of AMD’s rise as an AI computing force, the Advanced Micro Devices Wikipedia page provides a solid overview of the company’s history and trajectory.

What’s Expected at Advancing AI 2026

1. 🔴 MI450 Series Accelerators — The Star of the Show

This year will be huge for AMD as they gear up to launch their next-gen Enterprise AI tech, including the MI450 series accelerators and EPYC Venice “Zen 6” CPUs. The MI450 is already generating enormous commercial momentum — AMD has secured a massive 6GW deal with Meta, with initial shipments beginning in the second half of 2026, leveraging the Helios rack-scale architecture and custom MI450-based Instinct GPUs alongside the 6th Gen EPYC Venice CPU.

2. 🏗️ Helios Rack — The Blueprint for Yotta-Scale AI

The AMD “Helios” rack-scale platform delivers up to 3 AI exaflops of performance in a single rack, powered by AMD Instinct MI455X accelerators, EPYC “Venice” CPUs, and Pensando “Vulcano” NICs, unified through the open AMD ROCm software ecosystem. Advanced Micro Devices The double-wide Helios rack is slated for release in Q3 2026 and will incorporate 72 GPUs with 31TB of HBM4 memory. Data Center Dynamics

3. 💡 EPYC Venice “Zen 6” CPUs

The Zen 6-based EPYC Venice CPU will arrive with up to 256 cores and will feature twice the memory and GPU bandwidth compared to the previous generation. Meta has already been confirmed as a lead Venice customer, signalling the chip’s enterprise-readiness at launch.

4. 🔭 MI500 Series Preview — A Glimpse into 2027

Since the MI450 and Venice have already been discussed at AMD’s Financial Analyst Day, AMD is expected to go beyond 2026 hardware and preview the next-gen Instinct MI500 accelerators and Verano CPUs based on the Zen 7 core architecture. The MI500 series, planned for 2027, is on track to deliver up to a 1,000x increase in AI performance over the MI300X, built on CDNA 6 architecture, advanced 2nm process technology, and HBM4E memory.

What Developers Can Expect on the Floor

Attendees can join sessions on creating and running AI agents, optimizing models across workloads, and gaining practical skills they can immediately apply — along with access to free training, free GPU resources, and the chance to earn certifications and start building right away.

AMD AI DevDay 2026 will feature hands-on, instructor-led GPU workshops ranging from beginner to advanced levels, including building personal AI agents with open-source models and creating digital twins with robot arms for real-world data capture.
