Amazon India Unveils AI Seller Assistant Ahead of Prime Day 2026

Amazon India (https://www.amazon.in/) has introduced an AI-powered Seller Assistant, a conversational capability designed to assist Indian sellers and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in managing and expanding their businesses. The rollout precedes Prime Day 2026, Amazon’s annual shopping event.

The Seller Assistant, available 24/7 in English and Hinglish, integrates Amazon’s selling expertise with advanced AI functionalities. Built on Amazon Bedrock and utilizing Amazon Nova foundation models alongside Anthropic Claude, the system offers guidance, business insights, and support across critical aspects of the selling lifecycle.

Enhanced Business Operations for MSMEs

The AI-powered tool aims to simplify multiple operational areas for sellers:
Onboarding: Provides step-by-step guidance for new sellers joining the platform.

Catalog Creation: Automates product title, description, and attribute generation, capable of pre-filling up to 70% of listing fields from a single image or URL. It also enhances product images, reducing manual effort.

Inventory and Fulfillment: Offers machine learning-powered restock recommendations tailored to individual seller strategies and supply chain settings. This integrates with Amazon’s end-to-end fulfillment solutions, including warehousing and logistics.

Advertising: Through the Customized On-Demand Ads Experts (CODE) program, the assistant provides AI-driven account diagnostics and personalized recommendations to optimize advertising performance.

International Expansion: For sellers looking to access global markets, the assistant provides AI-powered guidance on identifying growth opportunities, suggesting products, and offering market demand insights. It also assists with country-specific compliance requirements, including reviewing documents and adhering to local product and safety regulations.

Abhijit Kamra, Director Seller Experience, Emerging Markets – Product, AI and Smart Commerce, noted that early data from AI-powered listing capabilities indicate a 70% reduction in time spent on routine operational tasks for sellers, alongside improvements in listing quality and discoverability. The initiative aligns with the “IndiaAI Mission’s” vision of integrating AI into Indian businesses.

Preparations for Prime Day 2026

In preparation for Prime Day, Amazon India is conducting “Seller Connects” across more than 20 cities nationwide. These masterclasses and workshops are designed to equip selling partners with the necessary AI tools and strategies for the high-value shopping event. Over 5,000 sellers have participated in sessions covering listing creation, catalog optimization, inventory planning, fulfillment, and growth strategies.

This year marks the tenth edition of Amazon Prime Day in India, which is expected to feature deals, savings, new product launches, and entertainment for Prime members.
