Amazon is giving its tablet line a fresh start with three Alexa-focused models. The Alexa Tablet 12 Pro, Alexa Tablet 11 and Alexa Tablet 8 put the company’s Alexa+ assistant at the centre of the experience, and they run Android with access to Google Play.
Pricing is in US dollars, and there is no India launch information yet. Rupee figures below are approximate conversions. For related gadget coverage, see our Alexa Tablet tag page.

Alexa Tablet 12 Pro Highlights
The Pro is the flagship. Amazon claims its 4nm octa-core processor delivers about 3x the CPU and 9x the GPU performance of an earlier model, though that is a company claim and not an independent test. The 12-inch screen uses a 3:2 shape that suits reading and work, and the quad Dolby Atmos speakers aim to make video and music sound fuller.

Accessories and Software
A Pro Keyboard costs $149.99 and a Pro Pen costs $89.99, which pushes the Pro toward productivity users. On the software side, Alexa+ is built in, an opt-in feature called On-Screen Intelligence can help with what you are viewing, and a Kindle reading mode is included. The tablets run Android and can install apps from Google Play.
Kids Tablets
Amazon also announced two Kids Tablets: an 8.7-inch model at $229.99 and an 11-inch model at $329.99. Kids+ content costs $7.99 per month for Prime members and $8.99 for others.

The tablets ship on October 14 in the US, Mexico, Canada and Japan. On October 19 they reach the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain. In the US they are sold on Amazon.com, Best Buy and Target. Read more about the brand at Wikipedia.

Alexa+ and On-Screen Intelligence: What They Do
Alexa+ is Amazon’s upgraded assistant, and it is the main reason these tablets exist. Instead of acting only as a voice speaker, it is built to help with tasks on the screen, such as answering questions, planning and controlling smart home devices. On-screen intelligence is opt-in, meaning you decide whether the tablet can look at what you are viewing to offer help. That choice matters for privacy, and it is good to see it switched off by default.

Prices rise quickly once you add accessories, so factor in the extra $239.98 for both if you want a laptop-like setup.
Because the tablets run Android with Google Play, app choice should be wide. That is a notable difference from older Fire tablets, which relied on Amazon’s own app store. Whether Amazon brings these models to India is unknown, so Indian buyers should treat this as a global launch for now.
