Alpha Twitter Review: Here’s What Fans Are Really Saying About Alia Bhatt’s Big Action Debut

Every franchise has a moment where it either levels up or plays it safe. For the YRF Spy Universe, that moment just arrived — and it’s led by a woman for the first time ever. “Alpha,” directed by Shiv Rawail and backed by Aditya Chopra, hit cinemas on July 3, 2026, as the franchise’s seventh installment. But does it deliver? Twitter’s first-day-first-show crowd has thoughts, and they’re refreshingly mixed.

Alpha Film in a Nutshell

What Twitter Is Actually Saying

Early reactions paint “Alpha” as solidly watchable rather than a knockout. One viewer felt the film met expectations without overwhelming them, singling out Bobby Deol’s screen presence as a standout throughout his scenes. Another review leaned more critical, calling Hrithik Roshan’s cameo the film’s most genuinely exciting moment, while describing the broader story and pacing as merely average.

That mixed-but-not-negative tone seems to be the general theme — solid performances, a competent action framework, but not quite the franchise-elevating moment some hoped for.

The Story Behind the Buzz

“Alpha” follows Sita, an elite assassin raised within a covert program, who turns against the very system — led by her own stepfather Fateh Singh Lakhawat (Bobby Deol) — that created her. Her mission puts her on a collision course with another trained killer, played by Sharvari, while Anil Kapoor’s R&AW chief adds institutional stakes to the chase.

For a franchise long associated with male leads, putting Alia Bhatt front and center in a pure action role is a genuine shift — and one worth watching unfold at the box office over its opening weekend.
