Allu Arjun’s calendar is already packed with two of the biggest pan-India projects of the decade — but that hasn’t stopped speculation about what comes after. A fresh round of photos from Mumbai has fans convinced that his rumored collaboration with Malayalam filmmaker Basil Joseph is finally inching closer to reality.

What Sparked the Buzz

Co-writer Arun Anirudhan, known for his work on “Minnal Murali,” shared a set of pictures from Mumbai with a cryptic caption — simply, “Iykyk” (if you know, you know). The timing and location instantly fueled talk that this was tied to Allu Arjun’s much-rumored film with director Basil Joseph, believed to be his 24th project overall. Nothing has been officially confirmed, but the pattern of sightings and teases has been building for months.

Earlier chatter had linked the Basil Joseph project to the long-shelved “Shaktimaan” film, but Anirudhan had previously clarified that Shaktimaan was never actually pitched to Allu Arjun, and that whatever this collaboration turns out to be, it’s an entirely separate, original project.

Where This Fits in Allu Arjun’s Packed Schedule

Right now, Allu Arjun’s plate is full. He’s deep into filming “Raaka” with director Atlee, a high-VFX project where reports suggest he may play four distinct characters across a parallel-universe storyline, with Deepika Padukone confirmed as the female lead. After that, he’s set to reunite with “Vikram” and “Master” director Lokesh Kanagaraj for the tentatively titled AA23, a project already generating its own wave of anticipation.

That means, if the Basil Joseph film does move forward, it will likely go on floors only after both Raaka and AA23 wrap — putting fans in for a fairly long wait.

Project	Director	Status	Notable Detail
Raaka	Atlee	Currently filming	Deepika Padukone as female lead; heavy VFX use
AA23 (LK07)	Lokesh Kanagaraj	Pre-production	Look test reportedly completed
Untitled (AA24?)	Basil Joseph	Rumored/unconfirmed	Teased via cryptic social posts, not officially announced

Why This Pairing Has Fans Excited

Basil Joseph made his name with the acclaimed superhero drama “Minnal Murali,” a film praised for grounding larger-than-life ideas in genuine emotion. Pairing that sensibility with Allu Arjun’s mass appeal and star power — proven again through the Pushpa franchise — is exactly the kind of genre-bending combination that keeps South Indian cinema fans hooked. For now, though, everything remains speculation until either camp goes on record.

FAQs

Q1. Is the Allu Arjun and Basil Joseph film officially confirmed?

No. As of now, nothing has been officially announced by either Allu Arjun’s team or Basil Joseph. The recent buzz comes from a set of cryptic social media posts by co-writer Arun Anirudhan, hinting at a Mumbai meeting, but neither party has confirmed details about the script, title, or timeline. Fans should treat this as speculation until an official statement is made.

Q2. When will Allu Arjun’s film with Basil Joseph go on floors?

There’s no confirmed start date yet, but reports suggest the project would only begin filming after Allu Arjun completes his current commitments — first “Raaka” with Atlee, followed by AA23 with Lokesh Kanagaraj. Given how packed his schedule already is with these two ambitious projects, a realistic production start for the Basil Joseph film is unlikely before those wrap.
