The Setup — Dryden Vos Makes His Move

The final two episodes begin with Crimson Dawn’s Dryden Vos offering Maul a deal: if the ex-Sith Lord helps install Vos as leader of the crime syndicate, he will help Maul escape Janix. Maul agrees and implants an image of a meeting place in Devon Izara’s mind.

Then the real threat reveals himself. It’s not long before the distinctive mechanical breathing is heard — and it becomes clear that Maul and the others must now battle Darth Vader to escape. Who Lives, Who Dies?

Only one character dies on screen: Jedi Master Eeko-Dio Daki, who is murdered by Darth Vader. Captain Brander Lawson is also implied to have sacrificed himself to save his son Rylee and the others.

The Ending — Does Maul Escape?

At the conclusion of Season 1, Maul disengages from the fight. No definitive death or capture occurs, with the evacuation only partially completed — leaving Maul’s longer-term status deliberately unresolved.

In the aftermath, Vos reminds Maul of their agreement — which we know from Solo: A Star Wars Story that Maul only partially keeps, since he eventually ends up as the shadow boss of Crimson Dawn himself.
