Alia Bhatt’s Passion Project “Don’t Be Shy” Is Finally Ready — Here’s When You Can Watch It

Alia Bhatt is stepping into new territory — not as an actor this time, but as a producer bringing a deeply personal coming-of-age story to life. “Don’t Be Shy,” backed by Alia and her sister Shaheen Bhatt under their banner Eternal Sunshine Productions, is set to premiere on OTT next month, and the announcement has already sparked excitement among fans of young, honest storytelling.

When and Where to Watch?

Prime Video has confirmed September 25, 2026, as the worldwide premiere date for “Don’t Be Shy.” Written and directed by Sreeti Mukerji, the coming-of-age romantic comedy introduces a fresh ensemble cast to lead the story.

What’s the Story About?

At the heart of the film is a character named Shy, whose journey through friendship, first love, ambition, and heartbreak forms the emotional core of the story. The film promises a blend of humor and vulnerability, capturing the messy, unfiltered process of figuring out who you are in early adulthood.

Leading the young cast are Aarushi Bajaj, Piyush Khati, Bianca Arora, and Ansh Duggal, supported by a strong ensemble including Kunaal Roy Kapur, Anurag Basu, Neha Dhupia, and Anju Alva Naik in pivotal roles.

Why This Project Matters to Alia and Shaheen

In a joint statement, the sisters shared how personal this project has been to them, noting that it “captures something so honest about being young” — the friendships that shape you, the first loves that change you, and the heartbreaks that quietly stay with you long after.

That emotional honesty is what sets “Don’t Be Shy” apart from typical coming-of-age film fare — it isn’t just about romance, but about the slow, often awkward process of self-discovery.
