This innovative wearable aims to enhance payment solutions in India by improving Tap and Pay functionality for users. The primary objective of the Airtel Payments Bank smartwatch is to simplify contactless payments for an audience according to the collaborating companies.

The launched Airtel Payments Bank Smartwatch is now on sale in India for ₹2,999 and is available in three colors: Grey, Blue, and Black. Existing Airtel Payments Bank savings account holders can easily purchase the smartwatch through the Airtel Thanks App. Customers without an existing bank account at Airtel Payments Bank can acquire the smartwatch by opening a bank account through the Airtel Thanks App. They can then quickly activate the watch by linking it to their savings account via the app, a process that only takes one minute.

Once connected users can make payments by tapping the watch on Point of Sale (POS) machines with Tap and Pay technology. The Airtel Payments Bank smartwatch enables customers to make payments ranging from ₹1 to ₹25,000 per day. The smartwatch comes with an NFC chip, backed by a Mastercard network allowing users to enhance their device’s capabilities for making payments at different retail stores POS terminals, and other payment locations.

The Airtel Payments Bank smartwatch features a 1.85-inch square LCD display with a peak brightness of 550 nits. It offers access to a diverse collection of 150 cloud-based watch faces and supports 130 different sports modes. Additionally, the smartwatch boasts Bluetooth calling capability and offers a remarkable battery life of up to 10 days.
