Ahan Shetty to Lead 1920: Cold Winter — A Bold Genre Leap With Vikram Bhatt

Post-success career moves often say more than the hit itself. Fresh off Border 2, Ahan Shetty isn’t chasing another safe action outing — he’s stepping into horror for the first time, teaming up with a filmmaker who practically built the genre’s Bollywood playbook.

Pinkvilla has learned that Ahan Shetty will headline “1920: Cold Winter,” the next installment in Vikram Bhatt’s long-running horror franchise, marking the actor’s first venture into supernatural territory.

Ahan Shetty: Key Details

A Genre Shift Sparked by an Office Meeting

The collaboration first came into focus after Ahan was spotted visiting Vikram Bhatt’s office, sparking speculation before Pinkvilla confirmed the connection. Bhatt, long associated with atmospheric supernatural horror through the “1920” and “Raaz” franchises, is expected to bring his signature style to this new installment, with plot and character details still under wraps.

A source close to the project confirmed the film is set to go on floors toward the end of 2026, marking the first-ever collaboration between Bhatt and Ahan.

Reuniting With a Familiar Co-Star

According to Bollywood Hungama, Anya Singh is also part of the cast — making this the second project pairing her with Ahan after their earlier work together in Border 2. That existing chemistry could work in the film’s favor as it ventures into unfamiliar genre territory for both actors.

Why This Matters for Ahan’s Career

Horror is a notoriously tricky genre to pull off convincingly, and pairing with Vikram Bhatt gives Ahan access to a filmmaker with a proven track record in atmospheric scares. Following Border 2’s strong reception, this genre pivot signals a deliberate effort to diversify rather than stick to one lane — a smart move for an actor still building his long-term filmography.
