AC Milan plan €40 million move for former Inter striker Mauro Icardi

After making his loan deal from Inter to PSG permanent only a few months ago, Mauro Icardi could be on his way back to Milan.

Only this time, his destination seems to be Inter Milan’s city rivals, AC Milan. According to Calciomercato, a €40 million pound move back to the San Siro is on the table for the Argentinian forward and could go through as early as the winter transfer window in January.

Considering the fallout between Icardi and the club that he once captained, the move from the striker is sure to draw the fury of the Inter Milan faithful. However, there is more to why Icardi is looking for a move back to Italy.

It is being reported that Wanda Icardi, the player’s wife as well as agent, is looking to go back to Italy for two primary reasons. The first being the forward’s lack of game time and the second being a family requirement of sorts.

In any case, a verbal agreement has been reached between the two parties and it has been rumoured that Icardi sees his future away from Paris all things considered. The fact that he is keen on a move back to Serie A is also a testament to the strength of the rumour.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is currently the first choice forward of Stefano Pioli, and the Italian tactician sees Icardi as a player who can first play alongside the Swede, and eventually replace him when he decides to leave.

AC Milan are slowly starting to regain their momentum in the domestic league. They are unbeaten in Serie A so far and also managed to win the Milan derby for the first time in four years.

The Rossoneri were congratulated by the Icardis on their victory in the derby, and considering the player’s history with the Blue side of the city, the derbies will be a lot more heated if this deal goes through.
