Aaron Wan-Bissaka to leave Manchester United in January 2023

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is set to leave Manchester United in the January transfer window. The defender has been excluded from Erik Ten Hag’s squad for the majority of the season, and is not part of their plans going forward either.

As a result, the club is trying to offload him to try and sign a right-back that is more suited to the Dutchman’s style of play. Wolves, West Ham United and his former team, Crystal Palace remain interested in signing him. But, no concrete discussions have taken place for him just yet.

The 25-year-old has played only once in the Premier League this season. He hasn’t managed to make any appearances in the Europa League, in a disappointing run for the once starting option under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The presence of Diogo Dalot has been the main reason behind him dropping down in the pecking order. The Portugal international has been nothing short of incredible since the arrival of Erik Ten Hag at Manchester United.

He has been one of the best in the entire league in his position, leaving no room for Aaron Wan-Bissaka to break into the first team. And now, the priority for the club is to extend his contract to keep him for the long-term.

They have triggered a one-year extension that was already agreed upon in his contract, taking his deal till 2024. But, their plans for him are for long beyond that time. And contract talks with Dalot are expected to resume in the coming weeks.
