Less than two years after taking over, The Friedkin Group (TFG) has put Everton on the market. According to The Athletic, the American group is ready to exit if the right buyer emerges.

What Has Been Confirmed

In an official statement, TFG said it is “exploring new investment options,” including the potential sale of a controlling interest. The group added that neither it nor the club would comment further while this work is under way. TFG will only entertain parties it considers the “right stewards” to take the club forward, and intends to keep fully supporting Everton in the meantime.

From Rescue to Exit

When TFG arrived, the club faced significant financial uncertainty on and off the pitch. The group says it has since stabilised the finances and overseen the move from Goodison Park to the Hill Dickinson Stadium. For many fans, though, the move feels premature.

Fan Frustration

Supporters were unhappy after a summer transfer window that left David Moyes’ squad short of depth up front. Fans also protested a proposed £40m sale of academy prospect Harrison Armstrong, forcing the club to abandon the deal.

What Happens Next for Everton

Everton must now play on under ownership uncertainty. TFG owns Serie A side Roma and bought Everton after several earlier takeover attempts collapsed. No buyer has been named, and no asking price has been reported.
