The Ray-Ban Meta Glasses are the result of a collaboration between leading eyewear maker EssilorLuxottica’s Ray-Ban and social media giant Meta. These smart glasses come with the luxurious style and quality of any Ray-Ban product and features from Meta, like AI and social media.
The glasses are now coming to India after being launched globally in September 2023. Meta has also confirmed that the AR glasses will arrive on the shores of India soon, but there is no specific launch date or time frame provided as of now. The Ray-Ban Meta Glasses cost $299 (around ₹26,000), but prices may differ depending on the selected style and lens options. The glasses come in three styles — Wayfarer, Skyler, and Headliner — and can be personalized in 20 different styles and colors. They support prescription lenses (Rx lenses with powers between -6.00 and +4.00) as well as transition lenses, which adjust their tint from indoor to outdoor settings. The glasses are compatible with iPhones (iOS 14.2 and above) and Android devices (Android 10 and above).
When connected to the internet, the glasses feature Meta AI, which can be interacted with through voice commands. Users will be able to ask the AI for the weather, set reminders, control music and video playback, send messages on WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, or native messaging apps, and access the camera. The glasses feature built-in open-ear speakers and five microphones to take calls or listen to audio from Meta AI.

One of the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses is equipped with a 12MP ultrawide camera that lets you capture photos and FHD+ videos from a first-person perspective for as long as three minutes. Live streaming is also possible for up to 30 minutes. With 32GB of storage, users can store photos, videos, and other content.
Meta AI supports live translation in English, French, Italian, and Spanish, with offline availability when language packs are downloaded. Users can also send messages, photos, and videos directly to Instagram from the glasses. Settings can be adjusted through the Meta View app on a smartphone. Powered by the Snapdragon AR1 Gen1 processor, the glasses also feature IPX4 water resistance, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity.
