JioTag Go Launched in India: ₹1,499, Specs, and More

In India, Reliance Jio has released JioTag Go, claiming to be the country’s first Android tracker integrated into Google’s Find My Device network. The smartwatch is priced at ₹1,499, and is available to buy via Amazon, JioMart, Reliance Digital, and My Jio stores. It is available for purchase in four color options black, orange, white, and yellow.

The JioTag Go is aimed at assisting users in locating their belongings by pairing with the Google Find My Device app on Android devices with Android 9 and above. The app, which can be found in the Play Store, helps users find their belongings not just within Bluetooth range but also outside of it. For nearby items, the ‘Play Sound’ option causes the tracker to play a beep, helping locate misplaced items such as keys, purses, luggage, or gadgets

If the tracker isn’t within Bluetooth range, its last known location is shown in the app over Google’s Find My Device network. This technology utilizes the vast global coverage of Android devices to assist users in tracking their personal items. Map directions to the last point are provided and once the tracker is back in Bluetooth range, it reconnects automatically to the user’s phone, and it can use ‘Play Sound’ for accurate tracking.

The JioTag Go has Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity and is powered by a CR2032 battery that can reportedly last a full year. Compact and lightweight, it measures 38.2 x 38.2 x 7.2mm and weighs just 9g. JioTag Go does not work with Apple’s Find My network; instead, it is massive and works only with Android. The device steps in to replace the JioTag Air, which was capable of working with both Apple iPhones and Android devices using Apple’s Find My network. In short, the JioTag Go provides a budget-friendly option for Android users who want to keep track of their stuff, thanks to its SIM-free operation, decent battery life and Google’s Find My Device integration.
