BTS’ V Drops ‘White Christmas,’ Honors Bing Crosby and Yeontan

BTS‘ V is gifting fans with an incredible collaboration this holiday season: a stunning duet of the classic White Christmas with the one and only Bing Crosby. Released for the sake of spreading holiday joy, the track elegantly marries Crosby’s sounds from a 1950 recording with V’s mellow tones, making it sound like the two stars are harmonizing in a duet celebrating the magic of Christmas.

The animated music video that accompanies it is equally heartwarming. Set in a snowy winter wonderland, it shows Bing Crosby giving Christmas presents on Santa’s sleigh with V’s beloved dog, Yeontan, who died recently. Yeontan’s appearance is also a touching nod to the sweets of the season, bringing a depth of heart to the candy-coated holiday vibes.

BTS’ V Releases ‘White Christmas,’ Pays Tribute to Bing Crosby and Late Dog Yeontan in Animated Video

Bing Crosby’s White Christmas, first introduced in 1942, has become a seasonal classic. Almost eight decades later, V breathes new life into the classic, paying homage to Crosby’s legacy with a fresh and soulful interpretation. This collaboration, marking 47 years since Crosby’s iconic duet with David Bowie, continues the tradition of cross-generational musical connections, bringing the magic of jazz to a new audience.

However, V manifesting his love for Tehro through Yeontan isn’t just a cute homage — the duet serves as a testament to V’s connection with Yeontan, and as such, it’s an endearing shoutout to ARMY and listeners everywhere. Its wintry scenes evoke warmth and togetherness in the video and urge listeners to indulge in the spirit of the season.

White Christmas (with V of BTS) merges two worlds, the vintage spirit of the era of Crosby and the contemporaneous tower of BTS, celebrating the timeless power of music to connect people across generations. V’s voice together with Crosby’s legacy is pure magic that is going to be enjoyed in the years to come. As the holidays approach, this duet stands as a celebration of the season, a tribute to a beloved pet, and an homage to a legendary artist who helped define Christmas music traditions.
