Taylor Swift continues her reign as a global music icon, receiving the title of Spotify’s Biggest Artist of 2024, a repeat of her 2023 title. Spotify announced the milestone on Instagram on Wednesday, Dec. 4, and said that the pop superstar accumulated over 26.6 billion streams — more than The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, Drake, and Billie Eilish.

To celebrate her achievement, Spotify added a Wrapped badge to Swift’s profile, accompanied by a congratulatory message: “In her Global Top Artist era. Congratulations Taylor Swift on over 26+ billion streams in 2024.” The announcement included a special video showcasing friendship bracelet-themed graphics, a nod to her Eras Tour tradition of sharing bracelets with fans.

Taylor Swift Reigns as Spotify’s Top Global Artist for Second Year Running with 26.6 Billion Streams

Spotify teased things to come for Swifties within the app, “easter egg experiences” and custom animations for each era of Swift’s discography on the Spotify Play Button, for example. Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poet’s Department, is the most streamed album of the year on the platform. Bad Bunny ranked third on Spotify’s list of top artists, with The Weeknd at No. 2. Among the other big names were Drake, Billie Eilish, Travis Scott, Peso Pluma, Kanye West, Ariana Grande, and Feid.

Some of the most streamed albums were Eilish’s HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet, KAROL G’s MAÑANA SERÁ BONITO, and Ariana Grande’s Eternal Sunshine. This isn’t the first time Swift has taken over Spotify’s charts — her albums 1989 (Taylor’s Version) and Lover also recently hit similar milestones.

For one thing, she had similarly impressive numbers on Apple Music, where The Tortured Poet’s Department won Album of the Year and placed Swift as the Top Streamed Artist. Reacting to the Apple Music recognition, Swift shared her gratitude on Instagram, writing, “Ahhhhhh thank you for listening to my music and TTPD so much!!!!! You, the fans, made The Tortured Poets Department the TOP STREAMED ALBUM of The Year on @applemusic!!!”
