Apple is reportedly working on a tabletop robot that will have a 360-degree rotating robotic arm and an iPad-style display mounted to it, according to a claim from Mark Gurman of Bloomberg.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman speculates that Apple may release a tabletop robot device as early as 2026. Apple is purportedly vying for a bigger piece of the smart home market. The gadget apparently has a 360-degree rotating robotic arm with an iPad-style display mounted on it.

Apple is expected to be working on a tabletop robot details

Apple’s tabletop device would function as a home security monitor, a video conference attendee, and a controller for smart home appliances. According to reports, it will run a customized version of iPadOS and include interaction with Siri and Apple Intelligence.

Already being dubbed Apple’s next big thing, the tabletop robot is a purported creation. The firm lowered its expected sales estimates for the next two years due to the unsatisfactory launch of the Vision Pro and a 10% decline in iPhone sales. Apple’s tabletop device may turn out to be another significant swing, following in the footsteps of the Vision Pro. Or it might fail miserably. There have been instances of huge tablet computers failing in the past.

Some of our favorite robots from movies come to mind right away if Apple is combining AI with artificial bodies. Is the year HAL 9000 finally here? I’m going to focus on the plus side of things. The personal assistants we’ve long imagined (or been promised every time a new speaker comes with Siri or Alexa) could be created if generative AI systems, even Apple Intelligence, were given robotic bodies.

It is anticipated that Apple will release its tabletop robot device in 2026 or 2027, with a starting price of about $1,000. Remember, this is all just a rumor right now, so proceed with caution when interpreting any of the information.
