The elusive next-generation ASUS ROG Zephyrus laptop with the highly expected AMD Ryzen “Strix Point” APU has made an appearance online. We have only recently reported several forthcoming ASUS Notebook models from the ROG, TUF, and ProArt lineups.
The source indicated that details of these laptops have either leaked to distributors and tech stores or that someone accidentally put them up for sale too soon. According to their information, Onlinetechsa, a South African tech outlet, has shared the latest next-gen “GA605WI-O93210G0W” laptop on their site.
The Latest ASUS ROG Zephyrus Laptop
The ASUS ROG Zephyrus “GA605WI-O93210G0W” laptop will most likely be a high-end laptop equipped with a 16-inch solution with a WQXGA resolution OLED screen. Expectations are high for top-tier specifications, with the standout feature being the inclusion of AMD’s next-gen Ryzen “Strix Point” APU. The data also highlights up to twelve Zen 5 cores as many as 24 threads and 24 MB of L3 cache.
More precisely, and in accordance with Lenovo’s newest leak, the AMD Ryzen “Strix Point” APUs are expected to be called 8050. While the nomenclature of this chip is not yet confirmed, it can be anticipated to be an imitation of the 8955HS AMD Ryzen 9. It also entails 32 GB of LPDDR5X, 1 TB of PCIe Gen4 SSD, and runs a copy of Windows 11.
The price indicated in the preliminary listing is 69,100 South African Rand, which was roughly the same as 3700 USD. This price, however, is more than one, or two from the actual price range, which was more than 1500-2000. Regarding GPU options, while the AMD Ryzen “Strix Point” APU is likely to feature a capable RDNA 3 iGPU, higher-end laptops are expected to integrate dedicated GPUs, with NVIDIA being prominently featured.
The ASUS ROG Zephyrus “GA605WI” model specifically incorporates the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, although other variants may offer RTX 4060 and RTX 4050 options as well. The launch of the AMD Ryzen “Strix Point” 8050 APUs is anticipated by mid-Q3 2024, with an official announcement expected during Computex 2024.
