Yes, you heard it right, Assassin’s Creed Red is said to be released before GTA VI in 2025. As the fiscal year of 2023 – 24 is coming to an end, the assumptions on the next plans of Ubisoft are getting high.
Reportedly Ubisoft has revealed its earnings for the fiscal year 2024, and as we can see, it didn’t do well in the third quarter. It looks like there are still rough patches regarding Assassin’s Creed.
The Q3 had revenue of €606 million, which was a bit down year–on–year. The reason for this can be the poor performance of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. However, the company is expecting some good news from Q4 because of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and Skull and Bones.
Hence, the fiscal year of 2025 has become important for Ubisoft, and the company is taking its time. In this article, we will see when it is planning to release Assassin’s Creed Red and GTA VI.
Assassin’s Creed Red To Get Release In 2025
The company has shared it will release a full rundown of the 2025 fiscal year calendar in May. However, it has shared some of the release windows for upcoming games.
These games include the most anticipated game Assassin’s Creed Codename Red which is confirmed to be released in FY2025. However, this may even stretch to March 2025, as Ubisoft didn’t announce at what time it will be released in the year.
But according to some rumours Assassin’s Creed Red can be released in 2024 big holiday. In the recent Q3 earning call, Ubisoft’s Yves Guillemot spoke about the games to be released in the fiscal year 2024 – 25. In his words,
“What we can say about GTA VI, is what we’ve seen in the past is [when] there’s a big release like GTA, there are more and more people coming back to the industry and that helps other games sell as well. So, we see it for sure, we look at it, and we are really organizing things around the launch of [GTA VI] which… we don’t know exactly when it’s going to happen, but we consider it will closer to our financial year 2026 than our financial year 2025. Generally, it’s actually a positive for the market.”
Thus, we can say that Ubisoft is planning to release its Assassin’s Creed Red before GTA VI. Although it didn’t make clear why it has chosen this lineup of games.
