We frequently overlook the fact that the Pixel 3a/XL and 4a revived the Pixel brand, even though the flagship Pixel series is amazing. The last three years have seen Google’s A series perform admirably, and this year should be no exception. The retail packaging of the smartphone was leaked today, and in classic Google tradition, the Google Pixel 8a renders from last year were also leaked as the launch date in May drew near.
Google Pixel 8a retail box leaked
There have been multiple Pixel leaks in the past from Vietnam, where Google assembles these phones. Images of the box were posted on a Facebook Pixel group with its headquarters located in Vietnam. This is also the source of the leak of the Google Pixel 8a (via Google News Telegram).
The package makes it obvious that the upcoming mid-ranger will be black, similar to the current Pixel phones. Additionally, it supports the rounded corners and Pixel 8-inspired appearance of the Google Pixel 8a.
The leaked image suggests that the smartphone would include a twin back camera configuration in a rectangular camera island, just like the Pixel 7A.
On the right side of the smartphone are the volume rockers and power button. Additionally, Google will include the smartphone with the Google logo in the center of the back panel. The device will use the model number G6GPR, as confirmed by the retail packaging. The smartphone will feature 27W wired fast charging, it also says.
There are three possible colors for the Google Pixel 8a: Bay, Porcelain, and Obsidian Black. The phone is expected to be a mid-range model and might cost $500, or Rs 42,999, in India, similar to the Pixel 7a. It might cost $50 more, but we doubt that. It is expected to have the Tensor G3 and be available in 8/128 GB and 8/256 GB storage capacities.
