Inter Milan transfer news 2023: Latest updates ahead of 2023/24 season

Inter Milan transfer news: The Nerazzurri fell short of securing a treble after being defeated against Manchester City in the finals of the Champions League. However, they were able to win the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italia, making it a considerably positive season.

The club will now have to navigate the transfer market to bolster their squad and ensure that the team is able to compete for trophies next season as well. Here is the latest Inter transfer news that you need to keep track of. 

Marcus Thuram agrees to sign as free agent 

After leaving Borussia Monchengladbach upon the expiry of his contract, Marcus Thuram has decided to sign for Inter. The player will receive a salary worth €6-6.5 million per season. He had offers from Paris Saint-Germain, RB Leipzig and Milan, but turned them all down due to the proposal made by the Nerazzurri. 

Thuram will likely be replacing Edin Dzeko after the Bosnian’s move to Fenerbahce.

Marcelo Brozovic to sign for Al Nassr

Marcelo Brozovic agreed a three-year contract with Al Nassr for a transfer this summer. A transfer fee worth €23-24 million has been agreed with Inter for their star midfielder. In spite of extending his contract until 2026 just one year earlier, the Croatian is now set to leave Italy for a new challenge in the Middle East.

Inter transfer news: Andre Onana to leave? 

Manchester United have enquired about the situation of Andre Onana, with the Premier League clubs eager to sign him. Inter have quoted a price tag worth €50 million plus add-ons for the goalkeeper, and Manchester United have scheduled a meeting to discuss a deal for him.

Inter are eyeing several options to replace the player if he leaves with Yann Sommer, Hugo Lloris, Keylor Navas and Giorgi Mamardashvili among the names being discussed at the club.

Yann Bisseck will sign for Inter Milan in the coming days, after a deal was agreed with Danish club Aarhus GF. The transfer fee involved will be worth €7 million, which is his release clause. It will be paid in two instalments, after the club reached total agreement on personal terms with him.  

Cesar Azpilicueta expected to sign on two-year deal 

Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta is expected to sign for Inter Milan soon. The Spaniard has accepted a two-year contract proposal from them and he is keen on making the move. All that remains now is for the defender to finalise the termination of his contract with Chelsea for the move to go through. 

Inter Milan transfer news: Romelu Lukaku’s future remains up in the air

The Belgian spent the 22/23 season on loan with Inter, only a year after sealing a big-money transfer to Chelsea. The Premier League club is not looking to sanction another loan deal for Lukaku, and want to offload him permanently. They have set an asking price worth €40 million for the striker, who has no future at Stamford Bridge.

So far, Inter don’t seem likely to meet that asking price. Further negotiations will suggest whether Lukaku will be able to return to Inter once again. But, the situation could be further complicated after the arrival of Marcus Thuram.
