AMD Ryzen PRO 4000 Series & Athlon PRO 3000 Series Desktop Processors with Radeon Graphics launched

Apart from launching the Ryzen 4000G desktop APUs commercially, mostly for OEMs now, AMD has also launched its new Ryzen PRO 4000 Series & Athlon PRO 3000 Series Desktop Processors targeted towards professional usage.

Built for modern business PCs, AMD Ryzen 4000 Series Desktop Processors and AMD Athlon 3000 Series Desktop Processors with PRO technologies offer enterprise-class solutions, advanced technology and multi-layered security features. Being made out of 7nm process, these Zen 2 based Ryzen PRO processors should deliver incredible performance without any compromise on security.

In the past, we have seen the leaks of these Ryzen PRO Renoir APUs and seen how powerful they can be. These are the same Ryzen 4000G desktop processors but with advanced security features targeted towards professionals. The G Series comes with 65W TDP while the GE Series has a modest 35W TDP.

Featuring advanced performance and modern security features with layers of protection, they are designed to keep up with today’s fast-paced, remote work business environments. With security features such as AMD Memory Guard and AMD Secure Processor alongside seamless manageability features, businesses can rest assured AMD-powered systems are easy to administer on an enterprise-level scale and deliver reliable security features.

The new AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G is almost the same as the other flagship Renoir desktop APU 8-core and 16 thread. It comes with 4 MB of L2 and 8 MB of L3 cache for a total of 12 MB cache. The APU features a base clock speed of 3.60 GHz and a boost clock speed of 4.45 GHz. The APU operates with a 65W TDP and for integrated graphics, there’s the 7nm Vega GPU which comes with 8 CUs to form 512 cores and clocked at 2100 MHz.

The AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G features 6 cores and 12 threads and has clock speeds configured at 3.7 GHz base and 4.2 GHz boost. It also comes with 6 MB of L3 cache and a TDP of 65W. On the GPU front, it comes with Vega 7 integrated graphics that support 448 cores running at a clock speed of up to 1900 MHz.

The AMD Ryzen 3 PRO 4350G, the base APU on the other hand, now features 4 cores and 8 threads, along with clock speeds configured at 3.8 GHz base and 4.0 GHz boost. The APU comes with 4 MB of L3 cache and has a TDP of 65W. On the GPU front, it comes with Vega 6 integrated graphics that support 384 cores running at a clock speed of up to 1700 MHz.

Like the Ryzen 4000G desktop APUs, these Ryzen PRO 4000 processors will also be available via OEMs like Lenovo, Dell, HP and others. In the coming days, we could expect these companies to launch new desktops for professional usage using these powerful and secure APUs.

AMD Athlon PRO 3000 Series Desktop Processors Specs

It’s great to see AMD offering a new Athlon 3000G lineup based on Zen+ cores to take on Intel’s Pentium Gold and Celeron offerings as well. Obviously, these also come with the same security features as the Ryzen PRO 4000 series and is based on the original Athlon 3000G series APUs announced last year.

So, the new Athlon PRO 3000 lineup features two 4C/4T Athlon Gold processors – the Athlon Gold 3150G and 3150GE, with 65 W and 35 W TDP, respectively but comes with 4 cores and 4threads, unlike the original dual-core Athlon 3000G. The Athlon Gold 3150G has a 3.5 GHz base clock speed and 3.9 GHz boost with 3 Vega CUs and 6 MB cache.

The Athlon Gold 3150GE is just a timid version of the original one with 3.3 GHz base clock speed and 3.8 GHz boost along with 3 Vega CUs and 6 MB cache. Also, there’s the Athlon Silver 3050GE, which is also a dual-core 35 W APU, much like the original Athlon 3000G desktop APU, with 3 Vega CUs and 5 MB cache.

In comparison to the Intel Pentium Gold G5600 and G5400 CPUs, these Athlon APUs come with double the cores and threads, including higher clock speeds and a larger cache. The new Athlon PRO 3000 Series desktop processors will be available exclusively for pre-built OEM systems only.
