Tata increases its mileage for Tiago, Punch, Altroz, Nexon and Tigor

Even though Tata cars are now more expensive, buyers will benefit from the better mileage of the BS6 Phase II versions of the Nexon, Altroz, Punch, Tiago, and Tigor. The increase in mileage for both the petrol and diesel versions of these cars ranges from 0.60 km/l to 2.40 km/l. The increased mileage will boost savings, even though CNG variants, wherever available, will continue to have the lowest running cost.

The Tata Tigor has the least increase in mileage among petrol models, at 0.60 km/l. Tigor will deliver 19.60 kmpl under BS6 Phase II. Altroz petrol gains 0.70 kmpl, with new mileage at 19.30 kmpl. Nexon petrol has gained 0.75 km and will now deliver 17.10 kmpl. Tiago has gained 1 kmpl, with new mileage at 20.01 kmpl. Punch is the biggest gainer at 1.13 kmpl. Punch’s new mileage is 20.10 km/l, which is also the best of all the gasoline-powered Tata vehicles.

Along with increased mileage, Tata asserts that the Punch and Altroz petrol variants’ low-end driveability has also been enhanced.

The 1.2-liter gasoline engine in the Tiago, Tigor, Punch, and Altroz can produce a maximum power of 88 PS. All 4 cars come with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard.

The other three cars have a 5-speed AMT option, while Altroz has a 6-speed dual clutch automatic (DCA) option. Altroz also has an option of a 1.2-litre turbo petrol motor that makes 110 PS. The 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine in the Nexon produces 120 PS and 170 Nm. Both a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission are available.

Altroz among diesel models has improved mileage by 0.60 km/l. It now gets 23.60 km per gallon. Nexon diesel MT has gained mileage of 2.10 kmpl. It now gets 23.20 km per litre. The Nexon diesel AMT has the highest mileage gain of 2.40 km/l. New mileage is 24.10 kmpl. With the BS6 Phase II versions of the Altroz diesel and Nexon diesel, according to Tata, driveability has improved. The 1.5-liter turbodiesel engine aboard Altroz produces 200 Nm and 90 PS. Nexon diesel, in contrast, produces 115 PS and 260 Nm.

In addition to meeting BS6 Phase II emission standards and improving fuel efficiency, Tata has extended the warranty period for all of its vehicles. The new warranty will cover 3 years / 1 lakh km as opposed to the previous 2 years / 75,000 km. These upgrades result in a better overall package, which may draw in more clients.
