World famous Anime characters to watch in India

Anime as a storytelling medium developed in Japan. It received worldwide love and acceptance, even though most characters and storylines were based on Japanese culture. There were some recurrent themes where protagonists were dealing with technology, magic, challenge of living with others which appealed universally. The global audience related to them and within no time anime became popular across the globe. Here are some shows that garnered a lot of love from audience all over the world and are now extremely popular in India too.

World famous Anime characters to watch in India

One Punch Man

One Punch Man has been brought to India by KC Global Media through JioTV. It is a Japanese manga series wherein the legend, Saitama became popular as this hilarious hero who can win over any villain with a single punch. This invincible hero can fight not just human villains but monsters as well. It has a huge fanbase amongst children and adults as well. The show has two seasons which are thoroughly enjoyable. No wonder, it won the Spanish Manga Barcelona award and the Sugoi Japan Award in 2017.

Death Note

This is one of the highest rated anime series on IMDB, the website that is considered as the sacrosanct guide for film buffs. It is the perfect series to begin your anime watching journey if you are new to this genre. A story about Yagami, who is a student and lays his hand on a notebook that has magical powers. When he wrote anybody’s name, that person died mysteriously. Thus he started a mass killing of criminals. But L, the antagonist notices this and thus begins a chase.

Bleach

A part of Big 3, this series has action, comedy and powered up swordfights that will be remembered for eternity. Though this one has not been aired on TV, but all those who have been able to access it thanks to the internet are in love with it. Based on the life of Shinigami, residents of Soul Society, these citizens use their swords to bring back the evil souls from earth.

Naruto Series

Japanese anime Naruto is now available on JioTV’s Animax channel with subtitles. With fantastic fight sequences, amusing techniques and a great storyline, the world of Ninja never fails to amuse. This series is about Naruto Uzumaki, who wants to be the Hokage or leader of his village. The show won the Best Female Vocal Performance in an Anime Television Series and OVA in a Supporting Role for BTVA Award in 2014.

Pokemon Franchise

There would hardly be a soul on earth who is not aware of this show that has been entertaining audiences since the early 1990s. It is the story Ash Ketchum who lives on a planet where animals with special power live with humans. These animals are called as Pokemons, and they are captured and trained to fight the villains. The showdowns are often very exciting as the power of each Pokemon is different. It is undoubtedly one of the most successful anime series world over.

Dragon Ball Franchise

It is another rockstar anime series that has a huge fanbase and massive support in India. The series has heroes like Dragon Ball Z, Super, Kamehameha and Super Saiyan. Characters like Goku, Vegeta, Freeze and Broly also gained immense popularity. It shows how hard work and training is always all that is needed to fight the greatest of villains. With some humor and enough action thrown in, a new season or film always gets the fans excited.

Tokyo Ghoul

Available on Netflix in India, this one is about the protagonist who becomes a ghoul or Cannibal. While he is a good at heart person, he tries to figure out how to survive in Tokyo, without hurting others. On his journey he also comes across other ghouls who have different ideologies and are still surviving. This one is a must watch.
