AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is 24% faster in gaming against intel’s core i9-13900K CPU

AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 3D V-Cache CPU official benchmarks show a 24% improvement over the Intel Core i9-13900K. The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D will be the true successor to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, which has been a popular gaming chip since its retail release. With 8 cores, 16 threads, and the same 104 MB of cache, this CPU will be an excellent choice for gamers. The CPU has a base clock of around 4 GHz, which is at least 500 MHz slower than the Ryzen 7 7700X, and a boost clock of 5.0 GHz, which is 400 MHz slower.

The red team provides us with performance comparisons across several gaming and standard applications in the official benchmarks shared by AMD and reported by Tomshardware. The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU is pitted against the Intel Core i9-13900K and Ryzen 7 5800X3D processors (for generational comparisons).

Beginning with the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D vs 5800X3D comparison, the Zen 4 3D V-Cache chip provides up to 30% better performance and a 24% improvement on average.

The AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D was initially priced at $449 US, but discounts have reduced its price to around $299 US. According to TechEpiphany’s weekly sales figures, it maintains its top-selling position across various retailers. The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is expected to do the same and may even become the best-selling AM5 chip when it is released. Recent AM5 price cuts and promotions will undoubtedly entice gamers to upgrade to the new chip.

In comparison to the Intel Core i9-13900K, the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D provides up to a 24% performance boost and 16% on average across the four 1080p titles tests (High). It gets even better when we compare value and efficiency. The Intel Core i9-13900K costs around $550 and consumes between 125-253W while gaming.

The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D has a nominal TDP of 120W, but as we saw in our 3D V-Cache review, the chip would consume far less than that. In fact, even if the chip consumes around 100W of power (a rare occurrence), this is still half of what the Intel CPU consumes.
