Neymar’s ankle injury leaves involvement against Bayern Munich in UCL Ro16 in doubt

Neymar remains a doubt for PSG’s Champions League Round of 16 clash against Bayern Munich. The Parisians trail by 1-0 on aggregate, and will have to outscore the German giants to avoid going out at the Round of 16 for the fifth time in seven years. 

The Brazilian was stretchered off in tears during PSG’s Ligue 1 game against Lille. Lionel Messi was able to score a free-kick at the very end of the game to earn all three points for his side, continuing his remarkable form this season. 

Neymar remains a doubt for Bayern Munich return leg in the UCL 

Alongside Kylian Mbappe and Messi, Neymar was also on the scoresheet for the Parisians as they beat Lille. However, their European challenge is the tie that will be considered more important since they have a considerable lead at the top of the league table. 

Fans have taken a more cynical look at the winger’s injury, noticing how close it is to his sister’s birthday. The Brazil international has earned a lot of criticism for rarely missing his sibling’s birthday over the last ten years. And as per social media commentary, it could be a case of his sister’s birthday curse haunting the player again. 

Neymar arrived in PSG as the most expensive player of all-time, but has not been able to stay fit for a lot of their major European clashes. His absence against Bayern Munich could be a huge blow to the team, who are at risk of going out yet again.
