Cody Gakpo was expected to join Manchester United this summer, but a move fell through during the transfer window. The player admitted he was keen to join the Premier League giants, and according to Fabrizio Romano, that is still the case.
Which means that a transfer could take place during the January transfer window if the clubs are able to reach an agreement. However, a switch at the end of the season looks more likely for him.
Cody Gakpo could join Manchester United from PSV Eindhoven
The Netherlands international was in fine form during the 2022 World Cup, scoring three goals in five games. For PSV Eindhoven, he has also been in remarkable form, being one of the very few players to have double digits in goals and assists across Europe.
The youngster has 18 goals and as many assists in 34 games across all competitions. And he has shown immense potential so far in his short career, with signs that he could be one of the best in the world.
Cody Gakpo was also linked with a transfer to Arsenal, but he prefers a switch to Manchester United over London. Personal terms are not an issue between the two parties, and it now depends on the clubs to find an agreement over his transfer.
A fee in the region of €55-60 million is being discussed for the 23-year-old, a little more than what was being asked for in the summer.
